The Little Tykes Ice Cream Truck is such a fun and adorable toy, but be prepared to spend a couple of hours putting it together. Assembly was definitely more involved than I expected, but the instructions were clear, and it all came together nicely in the end. Once I saw how happy my grandson was playing with it, I completely forgot about the time and effort it took to build. It’s very sturdy, which is a huge plus, and I love that it has the option to lock the door for added safety. The little details, like the music and serving counter, make it such a big hit. Got this for my 17-month old twins, they literally squealed when they first saw the pictures on the package! Now, get all the help you can for assembling, it really took us two full hours but it’s worth it! Assembling Tips: 1. Follow the instruction to the T! Don’t try to get ahead or do things in the wrong order, yes even with the decals. 2. Because the parts are not labeled, separate them before start assembling can cut down time. 3. The decals are super sticky and it’s almost impossible to tear off once it adheres to the surface, so go very slow. With the big decals that go on the doors, it’s easier to start from the top then slowly adhere to bottom. 4. The music speaker is motion activated, don’t be alarmed if it doesn’t play, try moving the truck/tapping on the front to see if it plays. Now, there are a few things that I don’t like: 1. The big ice cream cone came with dents. It’s not a big deal but it shouldn’t have dents since I bought it brand new. 2. There are three cone holders, but only two ice cream cones? Why? Just why? What’s the third holder even for? 3. The ice cream cone comes in two parts, the ice cream part is the bendy rubber material, and the cone is hard plastic, it’s incredibly hard to make sure the ice cream part stay on. Some kind of clicking/snapping mechanism would be nice. Overall, it’s super cute!! It would make a kid super happy if you get them this. ... show more

We bought a cozy coup for our kids probably 40 years ago and they loved it. This one has several additional features that we think our new granddaughter will love. I had a little bit of trouble putting it together because of left over plastics on some of the holes. Make sure to check all holes before trying to complete a step and make sure everything is lined up. This toy seems to have the same durability as the original product from years ago. This is really cute, but could use some improvements. It was a bit if a chore to put together as many parts/holes don't exactly line up. The music could also use some work. It did not work at all initially. This seems to be a major complaint of other reviewers. The problem is caused by poor contact. I was able to fix this problem by adding some pieces of aluminum foil between the batteries and the contact points. The music now plays, but it would be nice if it played a bit louder. In the end, my 2 year old granddaughter LOVES it, so it was totally worth all the aggravation of putting it together and getting it to work. ... show more

    • Parts aren’t labeled
As many of the reviews state, assembly is kind of a pain. My biggest gripe is that none of the materials are labeled. On the directions screws, nuts, bolts, fasteners, etc. are labeled A, B, C, and so on. Unfortunately of the million bags of parts, none of the bags are labeled to identify which particular screw, but, bolt, or fastener is inside. It took a while to put together but is fun for my 2 and 4 year old now that it’s assembled. Not sure how long the ice cream music will last (especially with this being an outside toy for us) but that doesn’t seem to be too big of a deal. ... show more

    • Nice Finished Product, but...
The reviewer is quite handy. First of all, to address the concerns in earlier reviews about the music not playing, the instruction booklet diagram shows you how to put the batteries in BACKWARDS. Okay, this item is extremely difficult to put together. Holes do not line up properly and some of the tolerances are so tight that extreme force is necessary to overcome this inadequacy. One of the supplied tools is shipped INSIDE the hole for the steering wheel. This required a 10 inch channel lock pliers to remove, it was wedged in so tightly. The cooler lid does not attach properly per the instructions; you will have to force this part into place and it will not operate smoothly even then. The holes for the music player do not line up properly; this causes the fasteners to be too 'short', and thus the screw covers cannot be attached (I glued these in place). The holes for the roof-mounted ice cream cone do not line up either and the attachment has to be bent and forced through the roof. The front roof pillars require extreme force to wiggle into their slots--the good news here is that once finally clicked in, they aren't going ANYWHERE. The holes to attach the rear pillars to the body and the roof do not line up, so there will have to be some finagling on the part of the assembler. The body holes for the front axels do not line up and the tolerances are so tight that it is nearly impossible to attach the fasteners to hold them in place. As they are so tight in their binding holes, it will be some time before the front wheels 'steer' loosely enough for a three year-old's liking. As mentioned in earlier reviews, the decals are very sticky. There is a removeable floorboard so a child can be pushed by an adult without feet dragging. It is an adorable truck once finished. It took 3 and a 1/2 hours to complete, with two mental health breaks. ... show more
