I stumbled upon this product of Liqui Moly to which I did a lot of research about it. Of course, there are some negative feedbacks that I saw over the internet to which they did not stop me from trying this product as I didn’t see any harm. Once I received it, I did put it on my 2017 Honda Civic Sport hatchback with a 1.5 turbo engine that is known for its ticking noise due to it being a DI engine. I am consistently using Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w-30 oil and 93 RON fuel. I ran the car for 2 days approximately 80 miles in total. First thing that I’ve noticed was less vibration considering that I have a solid rear motor mount. The ticking noise was less and man, the engine runs like a smooth operator. Partner this product with a good fuel system cleaner of your choice and you’ll reap the benefits of further increased fuel mileage and engine response. I might even try their Molygen oil for my next oil change since this product really amazed me.

I don’t typically use engine additives, but the noise coming from my engine on startup was get very concerning. I own a ’09 Hyundai Accent 1.6L, and if you own one or know someone that does, you probably know of the lifter noise all too well. It’s so prevalent; Hyundai has the issue noted in the manual. It says it’s normal to have lifter noise on startup, it’s only an issue if the noise last more than 15 mins. In my case, lifter noise only lasts about 5 mins after startup. I will not drive until the ticking noise stops of fear of damaging some engine component. Even though Hyundai says it’s normal. The metal-on-metal tapping sound is cringe worthy. Waiting for the tapping sound to stop has been my routine for the past 8 years. I drive 100+ miles a day, majority is highway miles. I have well over 200k+ miles on it right now. I change my oil religiously every 2 months. The car has always had lifter noise since the day I bought it brand new in 2009. However, it is now louder and duration is longer. So one day last week I fell into the Amazon rabbit hole looking for a deal on motor oil. I’m not too picky on brand, just looking for the best deal. I always seem to find synthetic oil on sale, $10+ for 5qt after rebate. Can’t beat that deal, I always stock up and buy the max allowed. Anyway, while looking for my oil I come across Liqui Moly 2009 Anti-Friction Oil Treatment. I normally just pass these suggested products Amazon assumes I’m looking for, but for whatever reason I decided to read about this product. The reviews were very compelling but I try not to read too much into Amazon reviews, because anyone can write a review about any product on Amazon. So I decide to read more about this product on bobistheoilguy forum. To my surprise, lots of people on that forum use this product and many other Liqui Moly products. So for $8 I thought I would give it a try. It has a thick consistency with a metallic color, like graphite suspended in oil, not something I really wanted to add to my oil. But I did my oil change and added 150ml per the instructions. I started the car to check for leaks, car made the typical ticking sound on startup, didn’t think nothing of it since I’m used to hearing it. The next day leaving for work, started my car and heard the ticking as usual. It wasn’t until I started my car when I left work is when I got really concerned. I started my car and I noticed right away I could BARLEY hear the engine running. Absolutely zero ticking noise, I literally had to look at my tach to make sure the car was running at the normal idle speed. Not going to lie, I was kinda scared. I’m so conditioned to hear noise from my engine on startup I thought something was wrong with it when I started it up. I actually waited a few minutes before driving off, because that’s what I’ve done for years. The car didn’t drive any different, I didn’t feel any “performance” gains or gain extra miles per gallon. What I did notice, the lifter noise is completely gone. Nothing, nada, zero lifter noise. And the running engine is very notable quieter. It’s been 400 miles since using this product; I’m so amazed how well this product has worked in my situation. I’m so glad I don’t have to wait for the engine noise to go away before driving. I’m still not use to how quite this engine is when running. It doesn’t seem normal to me. Very pleased with the results from this product. I was unaware Liqui Moly has a specific product for lifters, Liqui Moly 20004 Hydraulic Lifter Additive. I’m going to try that next oil change. I don’t normally write reviews, especially ones this long, but I felt this product deserved one. It may not be for everyone, but if you experience lifter noise, give it a try. I’m sure glad I did.

This is a standard product that can be found in any well-stocked auto parts place, but for maybe 30% less here. I have no way to evaluate the claims made by the manufacturer. I just put it in the crankcase when I changed oil and filter. I'm using it because my engine suffered a partial seizure after the oil pan got punctured by a rock. I thought it was toast, but was able to break the engine free by turning with a wrench on the crankshaft pulley nut. I inspected the main and rod bearings and they looked okay, so the seize had to be between piston rings and cylinder walls. I put MMO into the spark plug holes, new oil in the crankcase and it fired right up and ran fine. Lucky for me! After running for 1000 miles I changed the oil again and added this stuff. So far so good. I hope it will help extend the engine life by reducing friction and wear on the bearings, rings and cylinder walls.

This is another quality product from Liqui Moly ! I recommend and use their products with confidence. I tried this product on a 5.3 vortec w/ noisy lifters and it helped immensely,..but you know deep down, ya gotta replace the oil pump eventually. Done. Easy. Use Melling oil pump. I am not getting anything in return for this review. JFH.
