Original set lasted 3 years and would have probably lasted longer if we didn’t do a 12K mile Canada/Alaska road trip this past summer. There were some pretty rough roads and noticed the lower runner bushings were off center and one upper rubber bushing was cracked by the time we got back. Upon removal to replace the originals, found that the center pivot bolt was heavily deformed. Half of all 3 bronze bushing were gone. If it weren’t for the damaged rubber, I would have kept going and not known about the bolts. I decided to use the same brand and model because of the good ride and hey, they survived the roads we were on. Amazon had the best price. DIY’d replacement. No issues when doing so. It’s too bad they are not rebuildable. The metal structure was fine. Just the rubber, bronze, and center pivot needed replacment. There’s a business idea for you. ... show more

I installed these on our 2021 Heartland Milestone 379FLML 5th wheel. I would say that your average home mechanic can install these with minimal problems. To save you the hassle, your 6 point leveling system WILL raise and support the rv. I left ours attached to the tow vehicle (2019 Chevy Silverado High County dually 4x4) because I was only replacing one side at a time(I do not recommend doing it this way)and wanted to have the flex. I used a drill to MANUALLY raise the rv, only enough to get the tires to rotate. I found the hardest part of the installation was alignment. With that said, I'm going to chalk that up to ONLY lifting and blocking one side at a time since each side was different in what was mis matched. (this was the only time i needed help) I bought the suggested option of brass bushings and wet bolt with the 1/2" shackles. If you do the same, order another set of the brass bushings, the set comes with 4, you will need 8 total IF YOU ARE REPLACING THE LEAF SPRING BUSHINGS. You DO NOT have too, which I didn't since i only had 4.. I did replace the bolts with the wet bolts so at least I can grease them. Removal of the original hardware was easy. I used 2 - 3 ton floor jacks to support the axles which also allows for some movement for alignment. All in all the whole process was not a difficult task and I would recommend this product to anyone who pulls a large heavy trailer. ... show more

Great product made with high quality. Be sure to measure your spring hangers to match this with the correct length shackles. If your spring hangers are 29 1/2 " spacing, needed shackles would be 2 1/4" center to center. If the spring hangers measure 33 1/2" spacing you would need the 3 1/8" shackles. I learned this the hard way...I also upgraded with wet bolts and heavier shackles. After only 5 years, the old nylon bushings were eaten up. ... show more
