This is an awesome scope. The only drawback is having to change lenses but that is the nature of this type of scope. I purchased it to use for watch repair, but then using a microscope brought me back to my college biology days which prompted me to buy a proper compound microscope. This scope has the little light stage so you can use slides but it's not the same as a compound scope. However it is AMAZING for large items and used as a stereo microscope. I view rocks, insects, plant parts, etc with this scope. The clarity and resolution is is very clear and bright. The adjustable lights are great. The software leaves a little to be desired and it takes some getting used to. Photos and video are a snap...no pun intended. I've found that the SD card needs to be reformatted every time I delete photos or videos from the card which is a nuisance. The card is also a trick to insert back into the slot. I use a rubber tipped tweezer. It's great that the SD card is included though. It also needs a rack and pinion adjustment for the course adjustment instead of the locking screw mechanism which is a bit cumbersome. Overall this scope is great. Arrived today. Setup was easy. If you are a coin collector and or enthusiasts, this is the perfect for that. Includes 32GB Micro SD card. This is more expensive than other models because it is an HDMI output to connect to a monitor.

I only use these for when I need images or video of logic board work (because I'm too cheap to buy the camera attachment on my expensive binocular microscope). But they'd be more than adequate for someone who does minor amounts of SMD soldering, and definitely adequate for hobbyist and collectors (coins, etc). The two magnification lenses are convenient, the slide box on the other hand isn't going to be very helpful for someone wanting to view bacteria, liquid samples, etc. If on the other hand you just want to view pre-prepared transparent sample slices (insect/leaf cross cuts and so on) it'll work just fine. ... show more

    • I was expecting to zoom and get details but it came with not the zoom and details I was expecting.
