I read through tons of reviews before making a purchase, so I hope this review helps someone else out there! Our family has a camp house on a lake with mattresses that are possibly older than me that are very hard/stiff coil spring mattresses. Every year we've stayed there, we wake up sore from having tried to sleep on our sides, and is even uncomfortable just sleeping on your back. This year, we were staying for over a week, so we splurged on getting a mattress topper to try to make the bed more comfortable. I was skeptical that a 2" topper would really make that much of a difference and almost bought a 3" topper, but I was very happily surprised with how much of a difference a 2" topper made! Especially laying on your back, this topper made it feel like a completely different mattress. I would say that if you're a side-sleeper only and you're going to invest in a mattress topper (especially for your bed you use every day) that will seriously eliminate any shoulder/hip discomfort, go for a 3", but if you're a mixed back/side sleeper, you'll probably be pretty darn happy with a 2" topper. The mattress topper was well packaged, we did not experience any chemical/bad smell from it, and it "poofed up" to its full 2" size within 15-30 minutes. We got to the camp house about 4 hours before bedtime, and so we didn't follow the instruction to wait 24 hours before using... I was afraid that we would somehow damage it by not waiting for the full amount of time, but to be honest, it was totally expanded, was great to sleep on even after only 4 hours, and is still in perfect condition. Sleeping on my back was a dream, and sleeping on my side was leaps and bounds more comfortable than it had been without it, but still my shoulder would be a little sore if I slept on my side the whole night. We didn't find that it got too hot during the night, not any more so than our mattress at home. After our vacation, we folded and rolled it up, put it into a big garbage bag (because there's no way to get it back in the box it came in!) and brought it home to put on our guest bed - it unfolded and re-expanded perfectly. I hope this topper travels well again with us next year! I will say that the regular fitted sheet we had just barely fit over the topper and mattress (which is not a thick mattress at all), so I would recommend having sheets designed for a thicker mattress. Overall, very very happy with this purchase - it revolutionized our sleeping experience for the whole time on vacation, and will hopefully make the guest bed something our guests actually like to sleep in! REALLY GOOD for college students. I got the Twin XL for my freshman and senior years, and it honestly saved me. We didn't have any AC, and the room could get to 100 degrees, so I don't know how much it was "cooling gel". Although in my second year, I did have AC, and I think it was better. After my first year, it had a yellow/green stain. I believe this was from my cheap bed sheets, honestly. If you are buying this in general, invest in cotton sheets; they are cooling and are unbelievably comfortable. It is a very good fit, and if it is too long, you can always push it towards your head for an extra "pillow." This also prevents my mattress from any nicks from, like jewelry (one less thing the school can charge you for). It is very comfortable and doesn't make any noise. I also paired this with a mattress cushioned cover(from TJMAXX), to keep it in place and make it easier to put my bed sheets on. You can recycle this when you're done. It is used as an extra cushion for my dog's bed, because he is older. It was a very useful product and didn't get lumpy or anything, it kept its shape once you unroll it and let it blow up.?.. a bit it is very flat and worth the money. Dorm mattresses are literally as hard as a rock, like it's covering the springs, and you can feel the emptiness in them. This helps 100%

I often wake up with an arm or hand weirdly folded under my body and it hurts. I recently slept on a bed that had a mattress topper and found that it kept me lying flat on my back instead of moving all over the bed and rolling over my arm. I also sleep hot. I did a lot a research and decided to get the 2" gel Linenspa mattress topper. After reading several reviews on the mattress topper cover from the same company, I found one with better ratings made by Lucid. It was just a few dollars more and it's very high quality. I slept on this combination last night (I put the whole thing under my quilted mattress pad) and slept really well. It reminded me of sleeping on one of those Cloud Nine beds from Hampton Hotels. I decided on the 2" because, years ago, I purchased a very thick memory foam mattress and hated it! It got so hot and I sank in it so deeply, that I could not turn around in it and had trouble getting out of bed. Two inches is plenty for me. I weigh around 140lbs, so I'm no lightweight. I hope this helps you make a decision. By the way, there was a slight smell when I took it out of the package, it looked perfect (I even chose a used one---prime condition, never taken out of the bag for about $34) It inflated in about 2 hours and the next day, the odor was completely gone. So, I don't understand all that talk about the strong chemical smell. I have a great sense of smell. We recently had an invasion of odorous ants at the house. They were in our walls and I could smell them before they even got in through the electrical outlets. Nobody else in the house could! I have the nose of a bloodhound! : )

I own 3 of these now. One in each trailer, and one on my main bed. They are very comfortable and seam to hold up. I have the 3" one trailer. I like them about the same, but the mattress might of been a little bit worse to start with on that one.

It’s only a week since I bought this mattress and I am more pleased to review it since I also relied on other buyers comments and reviews before making the purchase. BEST MATTRESS I HAVE EVER OWNED! Let me just start by saying that before buying this mattress, I had some serious back problems that made sleeping uncomfortably even on a spring mattress. Since I didn’t really want to spend more than $1,000 on a mattress, I was very tempted to buy this one considering it’s a great bargain. Since this was my first experience with a non-spring mattress, I was a bit reluctant on whether I would love it. I thought it was risky buying a mattress online since this would mean it will be shipped without me testing it first. I was even worried how i would ship it back if i didn't love it. When my mattress arrived, I was proved wrong because it looked too good to be true. It came with a tall box but it wasn’t something to worry about even though am a young woman, since I had someone to help me carry it upstairs. When I removed it from the package, I experience a little bit of smell from the off gassing. However, it only lasted for a while before dissipating quickly and was unable to prevent me from sleeping on it. If you are patient, unlike me, I would recommend using it without any linen for a few days before sleeping on it. It starts off a little bit firmer but gets softer with time as sleeping gets better. It’s just one week and falling asleep doesn’t even take time unlike before. Since I am someone who changes positions constantly when sleeping, this mattress fits me like a glove in every single position. I no longer wake up with numb legs or arms like I used to. Overall, I love this mattress and have benefited a lot from it and that’s why I feel obliged to write this review. I have been using a Tempur-Pedic and was only unable to buy it because of its high price. However, this has turned out to be luck for me as I have found great value in this mattress at an even lower price.
