Simple and easy to use perfect for kayaking. Its easy to use and easy to read. I would want something with more bells and whistles to keep on a boat but with this being portable and easy to its great for exploring new water on a kayak.

I tried it out for the very first day it was reading depth and other things and then all of a sudden it just stopped working. When I got home took it off the kayak and the transducer was filled with water. I’m guessing once the transducer filled with water it stopped working. Sending it back for a refund. ... show more

    • Accurate Sonar Depth Finder
The Limink depth & fish finder was ordered for use in lake fishing. This sonar based fish finder is what I've needed in my days of fishing. What I like about this tool is that the screen is easy to read when in use, even in the sun. I did try to shade the screen as best as possible. Also, the transducer can be attached to my boat or can be left as much as 25 feet from the boat for readings. I seldom fish in depths of more than 50 feet max, and in testing it is accurate at this depth though it is supposed to be accurate up to about 325 feet. The readings for fish in murky or semi-clear water was OK, but nothing exceptional. That is probably to be expected, whereas in clearer water, the readings should be very accurate. BOTTOM LINE: This is a great & useful tool in fishing if one cannot affort the much more elaborate & expensive fish finders for a boat. It is accurate at determining the depth of water, and good at determining when fish are near. If one fishes from the shore, from a small boat, or a kayak, this is a good tool for finding depth & fish. Quite honestly when I received this unit, it looked like a toy. Had a chance to try it out this weekend in the harbor and I was impressed. Using an app that reported on ocean depth, the LIMINK was spot on in that area. It reported a school of small fish when I cruised over a section of the water where birds were diving. For once I knew I was not wasting my time in an area waiting for a fish to bite. It is a great addition to my small boat arsenal of gear.
