    • Great quality and Design
High Quality case, beautful leather and a better design than Leica as you can access the battery, SD card and connections slots without having to remove the case. For those that say they did not receive the dovetail plate, I thought the same thing until I actually realized today :) there is a slot built into the bottom of the case and it fits my RRS tripod head clamp perfectly. ... show more

    • Excellent half case/grip for my Leica Q3 43
Review Image by Mister Steve
I'm very happy with this protective case. it looks great, seems very well made. It easily slipped onto my Q3 43. My RRS tripod head works perfectly and it's easy to center the mount under the lens. It's a little bit tricky getting the SD card out but I am getting better at it. I really like the grip angle, if there is an issue I'll come back and write more. ... show more

    • Excellent alternative to Leica's pricey case
I didn't expect this case to be so good. I wanted something that would protect my Q3 when I rest it on a rock, or whatever, while shooting. This case is beautifully made and fits perfectly. The bottom plate is Arca-Swiss compatible and the magnetically held tool is handy if you need to remove it. I deducted 1 star because the opening for the cover on the side to access the USB port could have been slightly larger, although this does work. ... show more

    • Excellent case
I purchased this case and the Muziri Kinokoo case for my Q3 43. Both cases are excellent quality. I decided to keep this one for two reasons. The grip on the front is a little larger than the Muziri, and therefore easier to hold for taking photos. In addition, this case includes a tiny screwdriver secured with a strong magnet, in order to remove the base screw in the field, if you don’t have a screw-driver. The stitching is a more prominent on the Lims, and the interior is finished with a design which makes it quite elegant. Battery was easily removed on both cases, but the only negative (and this applied to the Muziri as well), the SD card slot opens, but removal of the SD card is difficult without using some small tweezers. Since the bottom of the case is quite thick, it’s really rather difficult to get my fingers in there to remove the card. ... show more

    • Very nice half case for the Q3.
Haven’t had it very long, but very happy with it at this point. Leather is thick, the case is fits perfectly, allows for easy access to SD card and battery. Not cited by the manufacturer as a ‘feature’ but I really like that it adds a little height to the Q3, making it a little less ‘compact’ — a big plus for me! ... show more

    • Far exceeded my expectations
Beautifully made, good quality leather. Clean stitching and nicely finished base plate with easy access to battery, card slot and side door. Screw is secured from falling out when detached and magnetically attached screwdriver is a nice touch. It’ll protect my Q3 well and in style at a nice price. Note: the stitching looks white in the product photo of the black version but is actually dark grey/black which I prefer. ... show more

    • Missing a Piece Twice
Ordered this case twice. The first time, it was missing the dovetail attachment. Sent it back and the replacement was also missing the same attachment. Decided to keep the case nevertheless because it is less expensive than the Leica case and is better designed -- allows access to battery and memory card slot unlike the Leica version. So far, the case itself seems well made, fits the camera well and has a nice bump in the front which improves the ability to hold the camera. Pity about the missing dovetail piece since now it will require removing the case to use a tripod. ... show more

    • Impressive, especially for the price
I wasn't expecting this to be quite as good as it is (because it is simply so reasonable priced). The fit on my Q3 is perfect, the workmanship is excellent, access to battery and memory card are very good, the texture of the leather is firm without feeling stiff, the Arca-Swiss "plate" fits snuggly and tightly in my ballhead, and the grip is secure even though it is smooth. Installation with the magnetically attached "screw driver" was a snap. I cannot think of a single thing to criticize about the Lim's half case for the Q3 and, as I have described above, there is much to praise. Still to be determined is how well it holds up under use. For now, I give the Lim's an enthusiastic 5-star rating. ... show more
