Amazon recommended size L and I am a 2XL gal through and through (for tops). I carry my weight in my stomach and this is suppose to be oversized. So sent it back and got the XL and perfect! The pattern is centered, seams line up and look good and I didn't have to cut hanging threads off. The material is buttery smooth. The turtleneck fits fine (because unfortunately I carry weight there too so most are way too tight) but this fits good for me. I would want more loose if I was wearing this all season but I bought it to wear twice this Christmas season (out to a Christmas family dinner and a company ugly sweater party). The sweater is very soft and warm; appears to be well made and fits well. I got an XL, my usual size. Unfortunately, the color is wrong. I wanted the red, but it wasnโ€™t going to get to me when I need it. So, I ordered the watermelon red, which in the listing looks like a soft, muted red. I got a lime green scarf to go with it, looking to create a muted red and green Christmas look. But the sweater I got is coral orange, not red. There isnโ€™t even a hint of red! I bought several of these Illusory sweaters: both this turtleneck version and their mock turtleneck version. They are so soft; they feel like a big, comfortable sweatshirt, but they look more like a sweater than a sweatshirt. They are definitely over-sized. If you're feeling bloated that day, don't worry-nobody can tell! I have it in a bright blue, a navy blue, and a black. The negative for me is the side opening. I've had to return some because they aren't stitched well (crooked stitching, not aligned). With the darker colors, it's harder to tell, but with the pink I ordered, it was really obvious. I think that the sweater looks a bit odd from the side, based on how the opening was cut, but they are so soft and comfortable, I am loving them anyway! (And for the mock turtleneck version, I've been wearing a thin turtleneck under the sweater. ... show more

I am not sure how I missed the image of the back of the sweater where it has "Ugly sweater" on it. I really wish that wasn't on it. The sweater fits well and is flattering and is a "cute ugly sweater." I needed an ugly sweater for a work event and was ok not winning the contest for the ugliest sweater so I picked this one. I will start by saying I am plus size and normally wear a 2X in most sweaters and shirts. I was afraid to purchase this sweater in an XL because I was afraid it wouldn't fit, but I took a chance and it was perfect in every way. It is plenty big, comfy & very flattering! The length was perfect and the color (Lake Blue) was beautiful. Someone said in their review that the sweater was buttery soft and it really is! This is a true turtleneck and you do have to double-roll it but that didn't bother me. If you are on the fence, just buy the sweater, I bet you'll love it as much as I do. ... show more
