I was a little worried about putting this together when it arrived since the ball is flat the the light up battery case has to be installed inside of it. But it all went together pretty easily and after getting it inflated, it worked really well! The kids love it and especially during the night swims, it was especially easy to find when it got accidentally thrown outside of the pool. It works well and is easy to grip, even for the kids' smaller hands. It worked well this past summer and even though it's been put away for the winter, I'm hoping it will work just as well when swimming season rolls around again. Recommended!

This is a really nice light-up waterproof football. After comparing dozens of similar balls for us to use at the pool, I saw this light-up version as well as their other version from this same brand that does not light up. I did appreciate all the good reviews of the other model, while this one did not yet have many reviews, but I liked the addition of the light-up feature. I did also purchase a similar ball from another brand, which does not light up, and just wanted to compare the grip, weighting, and general feel of the ball. That other brand ball did come along with a small pump and the inflating needle, which this ball does not come with, and that was a nice feature of the other ball, but I still ended up returning the other one, even though it was very nice, because this one is just better. This ball has a better weight to it, which definitely helps it to throw better, and this ball does throw a nice spiral easily. The lacing feels nice in the hand as does the rest of the ball. The black lines add a nice grippiness. This does come with a metal tool for scooping out the rubbery silicone plug that keeps the lighting mechanism in place and keeps water out, and that worked well to remove the plug and to help push the plug back into place afterwards. I do wish this one included the pump and inflation needle. The lighting mechanism works well and requires three button batteries, which are included, and they also kindly include a backup set of another three batteries, and I do like how both sets of three batteries are wrapped together in a way that they are inserted as a single unit rather than fiddling with three individual batteries. It does take a little manipulating to get the batteries in place and then to get the lighting unit into the hole in the ball where the plug is, and then to get that plug back into place properly. It was not too difficult, but you should be aware that there is a small amount of work involved when you receive the ball. You should also be aware that the ball arrives uninflated, so you will need to have a pump and inflation needle handy. I am attaching a number of photos to show the ball as it arrives and the included batteries and lighting unit, and how it is disassembled and assembled, as well as showing the ball against a black background when it is unlit, and then when it is lit. There is no on or off switch needed, as the ball automatically lights when it senses movement, and that does work very effectively, so a gentle tap of the ball or throwing the ball does turn the light on, and it does stay on for a good while, so it remains lit during throwing it, and will still be lit when it lands if someone needs to go find the ball in the dark, and then it will turn itself off after a while to preserve the batteries. The ball does only light up in the one greenish color, it is not going to change colors and does not flash, instead it remains an evenly lit pleasant green color, which is nice looking. I do hope that some of this is helpful for you. We do very much like this ball, and for us this is a superior ball compared to the next best similar product we could find, and I feel good about recommending it strongly for you if you are looking for a ball like this.

really cool light up football. We use this in the pool alot so don't really need the light since the sun is out. And you can't really see the light inside the football when your playing out in the sun anyway. But there were a few times at night my son and I threw this around the house when it was dark, and yes indeed it does light up very bright. The cool thing is the lights are activated by motion, just smack the ball against your hand and it should activate the light. One light luminates the entire football. It is waterproof and dries quickly.
