The media could not be loaded. Ordered this for weeding vinyl. I needed a solution to be able to actually see what I'm doing. Lighting from above just wasn't enough. The suggestions of a pounce bag is an option but a messy one. So I ordered this and I'm glad I did! It's a thin lightweight pad but sturdy so not cheap. It uses a micro USB power cord on the side. What I love about it is that you adjust your brightness level. You just touch the button and hold down to go up. Remove your finger from the button then touch again and hold down to go down. There arent any magnets that i can see. There's also a centimeter ruler on the top and side of the pad. The lit area is 12x9". This would work great for tracing, color by number and even diamond painting. Its fun and easy to use. I'd recommend it! ... show more

Well I should have read the description better when I bought this. A coworker of mine had one and it was rechargeable so I assumed they all was. This one requires it to be plugged up. The NXENTC A4 light board arrived today and I was impressed by how well it worked as it was 1/4 the cost of the one I was checking out at an online art supplier. I was apprehensive about the purchase due to the complaints about the USB port failing on boards like this (more about that below), but as there also were positive reviews I decided to take a chance. First the bad: 1. forget the "1 year warranty" as they require you pay to ship your faulty unit back to the factory, IN CHINA! 2. The included 12 page (3 1/2 " X 4 1/2") folder consists of 1 page of "set up and operation", one page of "Specification" and 10 pages of unrelated or otherwise worthless stuff. 3. There is an obvious problem with how the USB port is installed, more below. The dimmer didn't work... at first, but as the unit "warmed up" (no heat involved) the dimmer became operational and seemed to work as advertised. 4. The included 77" USB cord seemed to be above average (from China) in quality, but needed a little extra pressure to get it to seat in the port so, due to the problems with the port, I opted to use an old Samsung cord that seemed to push in the port with about 1/2 the pressure. The good: 1 the board worked, and had an even, opaque light across the surface with no dots or other patterns. 2. one of my worries was that the black "frame" might be raised above the surface top, but it is just part of the top so the board has a completely smooth top. 3. One of the reasons I decided to buy a light board was to help me sort through a box of family slides and I was pleasantly surprised by how well this board worked with all but the darkest ones. USB port issues and a fix??? As the warranty is junk, and I am only out $20 if I screw things up I am going to try to reinforce the USB port. The board seems to consist of two separate layers, the top that includes the electronics and the bottom layer that seems to be a thin sheet of plastic. The two layers are only held together by a non permanent substance (double sided tape ?) From what I can see, by carefully prying the two layers apart at the port, is it is held in place just by the tabs soldered to the board. I think a carefully applied drop of hot glue would be a permanent fix to the "weak USB port" problem, but until I can get my IT son to help me take the bottom off, I am just going to wrap clear tape around that edge of the board. So far, well worth the $20 spent. ... show more

As you can tell by the title, I am really happy with this purchase! I was so happy I bought a second one for my daughter-in-law because she used mine and loved it too! I have used it for weeding intricate vinyl designs and for diamond painting. I love being able to adjust the brightness! It's easy to use and super slim. The price is nice too! I kept the original box that it came in to store when not in use (which is rarely) because it came nicely packaged with all for corners covered in protective styrofoam. I have been using this for several weeks and if something were to happen to it, I will buy again. Just to put out some info: 1. The cord is a regular USB so they are inexpensive to replace if your cord were to ever get damaged. 2. It does not come with the wall wart (the piece that plugs into the outlet... the more you know!). 3. It does not hold a charge. So if you travel and plan to bring it along. Just invest in a battery pack. Hope this info helps! ... show more

It's lightweight and the USB cable was the first thing I saw at the top of the box. Concise instructions are on the small setup guide. Plugged it in to my laptop and touched the On button. The higher/lower illumination control is a bit wonky. It's the same button as the On/Off: a quick touch and it's on or off, a LONG touch and the brightness increases or decreases. There's not much range in the available brightness, but it's OK. I got this light-pad for taking photos without having to provide lighting for the subject being photographed. This can be a problem when you focus too close and the camera makes shadows from external lights. Without those shadows to worry about copying images is even easier than using a flat-bed scanner, and certainly more portable. ... show more
