To say that I'm impressed with this LG gram Pro 16-inch touchscreen laptop would be an understatement. It's LIGHT. As in 3lbs! The thin chassis (just over 1/2 inch tall) is sleek, and feels really good in the hand when carrying it, making it ideal for on-the-go work. I was surprised at how light this thing is. The thin metal feels very strong, however, and offers a nice sense of security should it get bumped or dropped. The backlit keyboard is handy, and the keys feel very nice when typing, requiring minimal effort, but not so much that they're susceptible to errant fat-finger or mis-keys. The keys are almost silent, as well,which is just an awesome bonus when working late. Now for the fun stuff: It's spec'd out VERY well. The Intel Core Ultra 7 with 8 cores has plenty of power for my video editing use, and 32GB RAM really does the job in AfterEffects, and when tackling a layered project. With 2TB of SSD storage right out of the box, it's plenty to get started immediately! The SSD is fast, too, at 7500 MHz memory speed... which means no waiting for files to load and lightning-fast transfers, too. I didn't notice any hiccups in my first few days of testing the gram, and export/render times were every bit as fast, if not faster than my workhorse other-branded computer. The gram has won me over already! But wait... it gets better. Advertised with up to 28.5 hours battery life, I can't argue. It did surprisingly well under some video file load, and didn't suffer from any serious heat. The high-capacity 77Wh battery with AI-driven power management has some intuitive settings geared toward keeping the battery going for a long time. The 16-inch Display: 2560×1600 resolution gives plenty of workspace without feeling crowded. It's crisp, bright, and renders true color and tone. I didn't get much eye strain, and the brightness/contrast looks great on first start. With a few minor adjustments, I had things right where I wanted them. Very easy to personalize! Speaking of heat, the dual cooling system maintains stable temps, allowing the gram to do its thing in a very stable manner. The EXAONE 3.5 that drives the laptop's Dual AI system, combines two modes: On-Device AI (gram chat On-Device), which runs directly on the gram with no internet connection required, enables instant searches and summaries of local documents and files, and allows recall of recently viewed screens using keywords. This is a great touch, letting you work with natural language! All processing stays private on the laptop as well. Beautiful! The cloud AI (gram chat Cloud - powered by GPT-4o) expands these capabilities when there's an internet connection. BEAR IN MIND: This AI is free for the first year after registration, then becomes a paid subscription, and gram chat Cloud does not support search integration or coding editor functionality. Being new to Windows, I was impressed with Copilot+, which the gram Pro's Intel Core Ultra 7 delivers up to 50 TOPS and enables Windows AI features to run locally on-device for speed and privacy. My favorite features so far: Recall: finds anything previously viewed on screen using natural language descriptions (e.g., "my animation short from Tuesday") Natural Search: allows me to search files on the gram using plain language instead of exact keywords Image Recognition: recognizes images, saving time and not interrupting workflow These features are particularly useful for quickly locating past podcast scripts, video project files, or other reference recordings without remembering the exact file names. Thus far, I'm absolutely loving the gram's performance. A LOT of power in a very well-designed package that I look forward to using for years! This is an amazing laptop! It is unparalleled by any other machine I have used when it comes to processing ability to weight, touch screen quality to low profile, and ease of use. The screen is paper thin which in other brands meant it would be flimsy, but LG did a great job with making it feel solid. The touch screen is also very crisp and doesn’t miss a beat when you are working between using a mouse to touching it directly with your finger of a stylist. Even compared to other models from this brand, the screen is next level when it comes to immersion and tactile response. The only time that I have had to dial back my work so it didn’t slow down the processor was when I would running several serious LLM for AI programs and at that point running two of them pegged the processor. After I dialed that back I have had no problems or slowing. It is wicked fast with doing everything else and for a laptop of this size it really is a beast! The battery life is great and you can have a full day of hard computing work and it will hold out for you! It charges quick and you don’t have to worry about it going thermal on you like other brands have. I have put this machine through the wringer of IT support, AI programming, office documentation, human coding, renderings, and simulations and it has taken it all by the horns! I held off reviewing this LG Gram after receiving it because I wanted the review to be through and fair after using it for a while. This is my most detailed, and longest review of any product I have reviewed on Amazon. I can honestly say that this laptop runs rings around the gaming machine I built a couple of years ago! I ran several benchmark programs against this and the results are quite impressive. As an IT pro over the last 33 years, and having started with an Atari 800 back in 1983, I have built, worked on, and owned hundreds of computers in many configurations. Enough about my personal past experience, let's dig into the nuts and bolts of this review: ➕️ Pros: Lightweight - Weighing in at just 2 lbs 14.6 oz on my postal scale, which is light for an Intel laptop, the LG Gram is ultra portable. At 1" less screen space, the 15" MacBook Air comes in at 3.3 lbs for comparison. It is noticeably lighter than any of my current or past laptops. Powerful - The Intel Core Ultra 7 355 with 8 cores/8 threads may not be the fastest chip on the market, but it's a great fit for this 16", thin and lightweight laptop. It comes in with a CPU benchmark of 20,543 which is equal with the AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, but behind the Intel Core i7-12700H. Still quite impressive! Single thread performance rates slightly above the Apple M2 8 Core 3500, which makes me happy! It still comes in quite low on the gaming benchmark, but this was not really designed as a gaming laptop. Overall, it has the power to get business done, and playthings some kick-a** older games on Steam when you just want to have some fun! Graphics - Impressive benchmarks on the integrated graphics. It seems that on-board graphics have come a long way. Look at the photos to see the outcome of my benchmark testing. The Intel on-board GPU ran circles around my Ryzen 5 desktop with on-chip graphics. Capacitive Touchscreen - The screen is very sharp at 2560x1600 with a size of 16". Although I have never really used the touchscreen on laptops much, I find it to be a handy feature, at times. I would much rather have it available than not. The touch on the LG Gram is quite responsive and the glass seems to be fingerprint resistant. I would still suggest a glass screen protector, if available, if using the touchscreen feature regularly. Storage Space - This LG Gram includes 2TB of SSD storage, which is a welcomed feature, especially for hard-core gamers. Those games eat up space quickly! Obviously it's overkill fir the average user that does a bit of email, a spreadsheet or two, and some Word documents, but average users will NEVER run out of storage space! Memory - Sporting 32GB of low power DDR5 RAM memory, there is more than enough RAM to get things done and play older games. Ports - For such a thin laptop, I was surprised to find an HDMI port, 2 Thunderbolt ports and 2 USB 3.0 ports. Keyboard - The keyboard has a nice fell to it, and I like that it's backlit. I also like that it's a full keyboard with the 10-key pad to the right. This feature just increases its value as more of a business laptop. ➖️ Cons: AI - Why must AI spy on everything we do now? I personally am NOT a fan of AI! Have I used it? Yes, but I sure don't rely on it as often as it is wrong. This laptop even has offline AI, which would be fine, if it didn't talk to the online AI when it's able to check in online. I am convinced AI will lead to nothing good in the end. Bloatware/Trialware - Every new computer from the large manufacturers seems to come pre-loaded with crapware and bloatware, and this one is no exception. McAfee, Microsoft and others include software trials that they hope you will continue to use, and eventually subscribe to. Of course the manufacturer gets a cut of the sales, so they are happy to include it. Microsoft Windows itself includes some of this software that is unnecessary for the average computer user. The first thing I do is clean off this trialware, especially the 3rd party anti-virus, since Windows Defender is more than good enough to protect the machine, and is updated regularly by Microsoft. Windows Home - For the power and features this laptop possess, it really should be a business class machine with the Windows Pro version instead of Home. The Price - Unfortunately the price of RAM and other components has been skyrocketing for many reasons. Manufacturers have no choice but to increase the prices on computers. For the average consumer it's very hard to justify the purchase of a computer costing almost two full paychecks, or more! I personally just don't see the cost vs value on this particular computer as a consumer class machine. It would be better justified as a business class machine with Windows Pro pre-loaded. At least a business can write off the expense. Mushy Trackpad Buttons - The oversized trackpad is comfortable but the left and right click buttons feel mushy compared to many of the laptops I have used in the past. I would like to see a much firmer switch used. Storage Split - The 2TB storage is split into two partitions. This is one of my pet peeves. It's all one physical drive, so unless you have a good reason to split it up, just make it all one big drive. Most average users won't even notice the other drive, let alone use it for anything. Case Finish - The finish is not very resistant to finger oils or any residue. It shows smudges quite easily on the palm deck, which makes it look messy. Conclusion: This is a high-performance, and super lightweight laptop that has handled everything that I've thrown at it so far, including some Steam games that challenge my desktop gaming computer. With a fast CPU, plenty of RAM, and more than enough storage space, this laptop is more than capable. Would I recommend it to others? Probably not at the price they are asking, the fact it doesn't come with Windows Pro, and the always-on AI worries me a bit. I was incredibly impressed with this LG gram Pro 16-inch laptop from the moment I took it out of the box. The first thing I noticed was how unbelievably light it felt for a 16-inch touchscreen laptop. Despite its large display and powerful specifications, it was easy to carry throughout the day and fit comfortably in my backpack when I traveled between work and home. The performance exceeded my expectations. With the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, 32GB of RAM, and 2TB of SSD storage, everything felt fast and responsive. I regularly worked with multiple applications open at once, switched between browser tabs, video meetings, documents, and spreadsheets, and never experienced any lag. Programs launched quickly, files opened instantly, and multitasking was effortless. The touchscreen display was beautiful. Colors looked vibrant, text appeared sharp, and the 16:10 aspect ratio gave me extra screen space for productivity. Whether I was working, streaming videos, or browsing the web, the display provided a premium experience. I also appreciated the AI-powered features and Copilot+ integration. They helped streamline some everyday tasks and made the laptop feel modern and future-ready. Battery life was excellent for my daily use, allowing me to work for extended periods without constantly searching for an outlet. Another pleasant surprise was how cool and quiet the laptop remained during normal workloads. This laptop is a fabulous computer that is light weight but very powerful. When I recieved the item I thought that I had been left with an EMPTY box because this thing is so light. This laptop comes with only the minimum extras, there is no drivers or extra software or cables. Just a sleek powerful notebook laptop, a fast charger cube, and cord. Even the instructions are a just the bare minimum. The How-To knowledege can all be found on the Laptop itself. The Screen gives a beautiful crisp image display and it its very responsive and renders great colors. The TouchPad works well and has the Press-to-Click feature built in. I do know that Click feature does not work if you are pressing near the top edge of the TouchPad surface, this is because that is where the hinge/pivot is. The key board is the ONLY feature that this LG Notebook has that leaves me wishing for more. I am just so use to the Big Ole Clacking keyboards that this one leaves me wondering if I am even pressing the keys or is the computer reading my mind. The keyboard is silent and all the keys are super low profile, but they do work flawlessly. I have been very happy with this LG Gram, have used it for working, have even watched a few movies on it, and it continues to give me great performance with no glitches or lagging.
