I have a smaller lg laptop older generation non touch screen and can go for about 3 days before needing recharge. This upgraded one can go about 6 hrs of constant use before needing a charge.

    • A mixed bag
Pros: Light, Thunderbolt 3 is a nice feature, as is 3.2 usb port, 16gb of ram is nice feature, as is the 512 gb Nvme ssd drive (I can't believe some laptops have 256 GB ssd's - way too small!) Screen brightness is acceptable. Cons: Doesn't seem to have a great battery life, despite the specs stating so. Memory is DDR4, which is more than acceptable, especially running at 4200mhz - the newer model has DDR5. I found this laptop a just a bit slugish, which surprised me as it claims an i7 intel processor - felt more like an i-5 - acceptable, but not a speed demon. The charger gets *very* hot, to the point where it's uncomfortable to hold. The laptop itself, in a review i read, also gets hot, and doesn't have active cooling - just vents on the underside. That review said that the laptop would throttle itself at times because of the heat issue. This can be solved if you just buy a laptop cooling stand, which I think negates this issue. Doesn't even need to have active fans, just a good supply of air around it. I'm not crazy about the keyboard, as the keys are 'flat', much like an Apple keyboard, so they don't have much 'travel' to them. That's a personal preference, others may want those type of keys. I know it sounds a bit like I hate this laptop. Not by any means. It does what it needs to, has some nice features like Thunderbolt 3 and 4200mhz memory, keeps things 'current' with 16gb of ram and a 512 nvme ssd. I think the thing that makes the 'cons' bearable is that, given that this is a 2021 model and there's anew, update 2022 model, the price I paid was a real bargain. Paying over $1k for this machine just makes no sense. Oh, last thing: Given that it has no discrete graphics card, I was not counting on it playing games well. The Intel Iris Xe Graphics do a decent job - was able to play Dragon's Dogma without any hiccups. And also.....as with most laptops, the mousepad is lame. I always use a small travel mouse with my laptops. You should, too. ... show more
