So I had an older ac from walmart maybe circa 2017,that I wasn't aware of you could clean but didn't clean for maybe 8 yrs and at this point it was spitting out mold and leaking water everywhere in the front. I have a small bird now in the same room across from it and worried about the mold in the air so frantically went to Google and saw that any 8,000 btu ac in stores near by were either out of stock or $400 and didn't want to take my chances with a portable one since my floors are uneven. I compared a few and I literally just wanted a bare basic simple ac to use for the summer heat being on the 2nd floor apt. As much as I didn't want to pay this price and amazon is hit or miss and was scared to take my chances it was crunch time and I caved in and got the protection plan aswell. So I ordered it Thursday evening and even with prime it said it would come this Tues. So I didn't anticipate coming home from breakfast today to find it in my breezeway 2 days later and not another 3 days. So first thing I noticed is that it came delivered perfectly fine no visible wear and tear. And yes it Definitely is very heavy I recommend a team lift because I just barely got it up the stairs by myself. But once I opened it it was very very nice again no damage thank goodness and it's so nice and pretty and simple. No extra unnecessary buttons I don't care for the wifi or Alexa connection, just give me on and off. There's alot of directions but I like how it comes with the front mount since I do live on the 2nd floor. I will say though I don't like how the manufacturer designed mounting the side panels. You have to screw in 4 tiny screws through the holes in the panels from the back side and screw them into the ac and using 2 diff types of screw drivers it was a pain but I got them in best I could. Once I turned it on no issues..do the test and reset on the cord. But you just turn it on hit the speed and setting and your good to go!! It's super quiet no rattling nothing. Definitely alot more quiet than the other ac I have of the same size. I didn't end up using the mounts or brackets or extra screws that come with it. But you can if you want. But over all very satisfied!! I do get the sun in so my temp in the apt is 75 when it's set at 70 but once the sun goes down it does get cooler. Obviously this won't freeze your entire apt but it definitely does a great job cooling down the majority of my place/the 2 bigger rooms to where your not cold but I'm comfortable with what I have it set on. I can't lower the temp due to the bird anyways but this definitely does the job for me!! The price sucks but I'm definitely happy. ... show more

amazing value especially for an LG air conditioner. this keeps my living room and kitchen nice and cool here in Texas. we have been getting 100+ heat everyday since June 1st. This keeps the room cold. installation was straight forward. you definitely need 2 people as the unit weighs about 65 lbs. I love the remote control and the WIFI capabilities. This can connect to the LG App and WIFI. with the App I can set a time when I want it to run, and also check how much electricity it is using per day! You can set the temperature and turn it on/off with the app as well. 3 air flow settings, Low, Med, High. The filter is located in the front which is super convenient and easy to get to. the App also tells you when to clean your filter which is helpful. ... show more

This unit went in without issue. Set up was quick and easy. I like the app, and it is nice to be able to control it remotely with the app. It also connected with Alexa easily on the network, and nice to control it using Alexa commands as well. I gave it a 4 star. I rarely give anything 5 star because there is always room for improvement. 5 stars are for things I am really impressed with. This, is good, but it does what it is supposed to do and for me 4 star is a good review. One thing I am on the fence about is the way it rids the unit of condensed water. I am not sure if there are drain holes in the back of the unit or not but I hope so. It has a "slinger" function that picks up the condensed water that builds up and slings it through the coils to get rid of it. Not sure if I agree with that method or not. Sitting water tends to get nasty in these things, and not something I want slung into the coil. Not to mention causes rust and corrosion of the housing, frame, or anything that is low in the unit. So, on the fence long term how that will work. we'll see. I assume it is due to the way it sheds water being the reason when it shuts down, you can actually hear water running or splashing around, especially when the unit cycles off. Kinda weird to me. But, it cools well, works well, the remote control options are nice. At this point, I would recommend the unit. If things change, I will update the review. ... show more

Unit has great airflow, very appealing and lots of features, but the unit failed during his first use in under 10 minutes of operation. I had LG air-conditioning units in the past and love them but this has put me off from them completely. It may not be big/powerful enough for big rooms, but it is wonderful for smaller rooms (e.g., bedrooms)!!! Pros: 1. While certainly not "silent", on its lowest fan setting, this is the quietest window air conditioner I've ever owned! 2. I love that the "beep" can be turned off - so I no longer wake up my wife when adjusting anything (via remote or console) in the middle of the night!!! 3. I love its air filter! Most are so wimpy/fragile, you're afraid to touch/clean them - but this machine's filter has hard plastic all the way around it and seemingly more durable mesh - I can just spray it with water and not fear doing any damage! On more than one previous air conditioner, I've also busted the "front door" of the machine while removing/inserting is filter, that front door sometimes rattles, and it's not obvious which way the filter goes into the machine - but this one slides in and out with no "front door" at all - so nothing to break, nothing to rattle, and it's super obvious how to insert it after a cleaning! Cons: 1. All window A/C units seem to favor shooting air more to the left or the right - sure, you can adjust the vents - but that only helps some. Indeed, this one shoots more to the "my right" / "machine left" - which, unfortunately, tends to be right at me (so I'm freezing while my wife is still warm). Meh: 1. I can't imagine I'll ever use its wi-fi functionality - but nice it's there (especially considering how inexpensive it was) ... show more
