This TV is special. In fact, every OLED tv that I’ve come across is special in that the black levels are so incredibly inky-black and this LG B4 is no different. The model letter denotes the level of TV (higher the better, generally) and the number is the year, so this would be 2024’s model. I can directly compare this to the C4 and I’ll say the picture quality is slightly less distinct but it’s still amazing. It’s a lot brighter than my B8 that I had for over 5 years, one that didn’t have any burn in but it did have some dead pixels around the outside edge. They updated the software for a long time and still update the apps, which gives me a lot of confidence in this TV’s longevity. Some other TV’s don’t update apps to keep them running smoothly for as long (looking at you Sony) but the OS is amazing. The web browser is outstanding and it blocks a good number of ads that pop up natively. There is so much to love about this TV if you can find it for a good value. What I love: 120 Hz native refresh panel that appears to go to 144 for variable refresh. This is outstanding for gaming Input lag is RIDICULOUSLY low (again, great for gaming) Beautiful picture out of the box, pretty calibrated Lots of options for picture quality, including an AI option to adjust it based on some pictures you like. Cool setup The Operating System (OS). So easy to use, laid out smartly, so many options for entertainment whether it’s LG channels to watch tons of content or use the included web browser for a LOT more options. So many options to adjust the picture. Lots of control and advanced options. The magic remote pointer is so helpful and great to use. Setup was a snap, super easy and I’m getting used to it a lot more than some other brands. Color…this TV has some amazing color and the picture pops. It’s beautiful, simply beautiful and I enjoy watching tv just to see how great it looks. It’s spoiled me when watching in other places, however. 2.1 HDMI ports, all 4 are that new standard and can do 4K at 60Hz. Awesome value Things I’m not sure about: The stand is made of 2 parts and it’s seemingly got some options regarding how it’s set up (but I mounted mine). You used to be able to bring up an app menu while still watching content. Now you have to go to the Home Screen. A minor annoyance. Things I do not like: The new remote doesn’t stand up like the old one. I LOVED that. It took up a lot less space but I get why they did it. They removed the play and pause buttons from the remote and it’s just got the wheel to pause and play. I get why they did it but I preferred a pause/play button. 2 out of the 4 HDMI ports are on the back. This is fine for putting the TV on the stand but it’s an awful design for mounting it on the wall. The C4 does not have this issue as all 4 are on the side. This is a great quality TV, it’s got good sound, seamless wifi, and all of the above. Overall, I think this is an amazing TV and it’s their new “entry level” OLED but it’s nowhere near an entry level TV. It’s absolutely amazing if you like deep blacks, the lack of blooming, saving some electricity (individual pixels turn off to make black, unlike traditional or QLED TV’s), love variable refresh rates, low lag for gaming, and want a beautifully operational OS, this is an excellent choice. The B4 and C4 (and even the B8 for that matter) are gorgeous and I’ll never go back to non-OLED if I can ever avoid it. Highly recommend, 9.5 out of 10. ... show more

At my age, I have trouble reading the fine print on movie descriptions. With this set that problem is a thing of the past. My only complaint is that I need two remotes to watch cable tv. One for the cable box and the other for the TV.

    • My Experience with this OLED TV

Pretty decent display. Only issue I have is the glare/reflections on the screen make it difficult to watch. The glare causes eye strain. I would buy a different TV with less glare/reflective screen. Other than that it works great and the picture is clear. I dislike the webOS installed on the TV when you first set it up Chanel’s start showing different content from different vendors to try to sell you their subscription service. The only way around this is to set the TV up to boot into one of your input devices. Another issue you might face is, if you are worried about the screen, being scratched slight bumps with anything that might be kind of sharp will scratch the screen due to it being some type of soft plastic. And lastly, the screen clearing function. Before the TV fully shuts down, it will go into this pixel cleaning process. It takes about 5 to 10 minutes/ using 30ish watts across that time. (No image burn in, well over 700 hours on the set) Tv operates anywhere from 100watts to 200watts based off screen brightness. Over all I do like the TV the only thing I don’t like is the eye strain from glare on the screen/lamps/windows/reflections. ... show more

After a delay in shipping with zero explanation (I had to follow up through multiple "customer service agents"), the package was finally delivered three days after my original two-day delivery. Not a big deal--logistical problems happen. It finally arrives today, the delivery team seemed to do a good job unloading it from the truck, transporting it into the house, etc. I unboxed it, screw on the feet, plug it in, after about a second or two, the screen flashes white vertical lines in the middle, and goes dark. I tried a few different recommended troubleshooting techniques, but it is very clearly a hardware problem--seemingly with the power supply. I immediately submit a return order and request a refund, and while the request seems like it's being honored, Amazon is requiring me to remove the feet I screwed on and repack a 77" TV in it's original packaging, and transport it back down the flight of stairs I carried it up, and place it outside of my front door for pickup. The amount of time and energy I've spent on this transaction (and now must continue to spend) to get literally nothing for it is unreal. I recommend buying from Best Buy or BH, have them deliver it, have them set it up, have them turn it on, and have them pack it up and leave if/when it doesn't work. Oh, or just stop giving LG business. The second of 3 large purchases I've made from them that has utterly failed. Either that or stick with books. ... show more
