  • Easy to use
Size: 7 Inch
I haven't used it yet so I took it out of the package. It has zippered holder for it. Which i think is nice and an extra battery. Its easy to use and appears very sturdy. Its easy to read. I don't know anything about accuracy. I don't know how to test that. However I believe it is accurate enough for my needs. I bought to set my solar panels up at the right angle for my new small generator. But after I played with it a little, I realized I would have many more uses for it ... show more

  • Quality materials, with stated accuracy up to 90 degrees
Size: 7 Inch
SUMMARY: The angle arms are nice metal, you can lock in accurate angles due to its flush fulcrum, the zero function is nice to have, the accuracy seems worse than advertised beyond 90 degrees. For precision, register it against precisely measured angles. The digital read out is probably ok if 1 degree accuracy is good enough for you. DETAILS: I bought this to replace a non-digital angle finder that was inaccurate because the angle finder arm was not flush with the fulcrum curve (the curved end where the arms pivot). That caused the measurement arm to hold an angle that was larger than what it was reference against. This one device has a nice flush fulcrum alignment throughout 360 degrees of rotation, and the tightness adjustment locks in the measurement. This means that when you register it against a known angle, you can replicate the angle accurately when setting up your saw (that's the most important part). To test the digital read out, I then tested 2 angles that I computed for a 12 degree sloped compound cut. I used a mm scale and trig to measure and mark the 43.8 and 11.7 degree angles. When I registered this angle finder against my indexed straight edges, the digital reading was more accurate than I expected with readings of 43.85 and 11.70. A subsequent test against a fixed 90 degree square read 90.3 degrees (right at the advertised error level). I then looked at the supplementary angle for the 43.8 measured angle and it came out 134.4 instead of 136.2 (off by 1.8 degrees--not good). Interestingly, testing 180 against a straight edge came in at 180.2. I expected worse because of the increasing error from 11.7 to 136.2. So it appears the error amount is not a linear function. I then rechecked angles and saw variance in the 0.1 degree range. In short, the digital read out isn't super accurate. But I've not seen a single digital angle finder under hundreds of dollars that doesn't have this problem. I'm giving 4 stars because it is good at registering and locking in angles against a known surface, the quality of materials, the angle lock, and reasonable accuracy (for non precision work). If I do compound miters that need precision, I will use my trig and straight edges to register the angle on this device, but for most non critical work it's accuracy it's good enough. ... show more

  • Nice Digital Angle Finder

Only an initial impression since I just got it. It seems to be well constructed and has a nice case. I will check it against other devices I have for angle measurement and post back if I see any problems.
