Description

Leviton’s 2-Hour Countdown Timer Switch has 5-buttons with 15-minute, 30-minute, 1-hour and 2-hour preset time options and a manual off button. Works with existing wiring and can replace a standard switch for added convenience and energy savings. Easy DIY install, slim depth for easier fit in wall box, interchangeable line and load wires to help prevent miswiring, and a Green Flex Sleeve that connects to a ground wire, or to a neutral wire when the sleeve is removed. The appearance complements interiors and is compatible with other Decora devices. Easily change colors using DTKIT faceplates available in white, ivory, light almond, gray, black and brown Ideal for porch and landscape lighting, interior lights, ventilation fans, heat lamps, hot tubs, saunas, attic fans, and more. Do not use to control lights if it is the only light source in the area. Use with Decora wallplate and Decora Plus Screwless Wallplate sold separately. We wanted to switch from a conventional switch on our toilet fan to a timed switch. Because the fan switch and light switch are in the same wall box I did not want to have to disturb all the wiring to connect to a neutral wire. This switch does not require a neutral. After the first install, I bought two more - one for a second toilet fan and the other for our powder room. I'm very pleased with these. Installation was easy. I like the small LED that indicates what timer the switch is on and the LED off light is also very small but does give an idea of location. Very pleased.     • Timer is great to let the fan continue to run after getting out of the shower.

We were always forgetting to turn the fan off after a shower. This switch has solved that problem. Set the timer when getting into the shower and let the fan continue to run after getting out of the shower until the timer goes off. Easy to install. Love that it has multiple time settings. Would like it more if it had a larger off button for regular use when the timer isn't required. I could live with the 10- and 20-minute timers combined into one 15-minute timer to get a larger off button. Overall, I would buy again. ... show more

    • A lower-quality...er..."value engineered"...version of the LTB15-1LZ

First, I love these timer switches. But our 10-year old LTB15-1LZ (which seems to be discontinued now?) started making arcing noises so I got this to replace it. Well, the big "feature" is that you can install this without a neutral if you have an equipment grounding conductor (or other grounded surface) available. Of course, if you do this, you're running return current for the electronics (not the load) down the EGC which is a no-no, but I guess the amperage is so minimal the regulators don't care. And, I suspect because of this, the whole thing is made of plastic so they can get away without a required ground (and reduce costs, of course). So, I mean, it's okay. But it sure seems clunky after you pull out an all-metal LTB15-1LZ and compare the two. The other downsides of this new unit are the buttons are smooth and lack the "finger locating" ridges on the old unit, and there is an LED that is quite bright which is on whenever the unit has power. You might not mind this, but I do. Anyway, it works, and can be installed in more real-world setups, I guess. But it's also another example of our race to drive every penny of cost out of every product for greater profit. ... show more

This product was easy to install and fit into our current switch box (in contrast to the more highly rated, older model Levitron wall timer that would have required a deeper switch box). The price was good. The options available were impressive. This has been a great alternative to the twist timer that we previously used. The twist style timer cannot be cancelled until the set time passes. One of our girls ruined the twist timer by forcing it to the off position.
