Comfortable and somewhat conservative (no holes). Good color. Nice fabric weight and stretch. Easy zip with large silver button. I’m 5’6 and 127 pounds and I tried the 30 but no go. The 32 is perfect but I have a straight up and down body—medium waist small hips and legs. No butt.

These are an updated version of the 501 short, with a zipper fly. They are stretchy, and fit my shape well. For reference, I’m 26” waist with 36” hips. Length is ok too, not too short. I do want to mention that I got different washes, and they do fit differently. Pictures are of “Chelsea When Dark Indigo”. I also purchased “Dark Indigo” and the wash was a bit more brown than blue, and the inseam was shorter.

Whoa how cute are these?! A little stretchy and super short. Nice high rise to cover that mom pooch. I'm 5'5" 170 and wear size 14 or large and I got size 31. They fit perfectly.

These fit fairly true-to-size but are lightly stretchy for some flexibility. I like the high-rise style, and Levi's makes a quality product that holds up well in the washing machine without getting too distressed.

Update: returned the shorts, realized I would not want to wear them due to the low rise and short inseam. I might keep these shorts despite the fact that they are not the same as the photo or description. I was looking for true high rise shorts that cover 2-3 inches below my butt. They are more of a mid-rise (hit below my belly button) instead of the ultra high waist you see on the model. And they are extremely short, the inseam can’t be more than 2 inches long. And if you have thick thighs like me, those 2 inches disappear when you walk. So they are really booty shorts. They are very cute and youthful, and also comfy with a LOT of stretch. I wear size 10 in other brands, and got my usual size in Levi’s (30) and they fit well. I think one size up also could fit. If it helps, I’m 5’5, 150lbs, 32 inch waist with a belly, and 40 inch hips. I’m not super happy because they aren’t what I’m looking for, but might keep them for hot summer days because they are stretchy and comfortable.

I tried on so many brands of high rise jean shorts such as the one from Express, JCrew, Gap, AG, etc. All of them are either too tight around my mildly puffy mommy’s belly (not really a big muffin top but a small amount of excessive skin due to having a child) and squeezed my skin in a painful way, or they have zero strength and went up into my crouch which was very uncomfortable to wear. It’s so hard for a person with a mom’s waist to find the right type of high waist shorts since I lost my slim waist after childbirth. This short is not way too short to the point that I look like a mom trying too hard to look like a teenager or the length is not too long that’s aging me and made me looked 10 years older like a grandma. I bought the dark gray wash one and it’s trendy that I can dress down with a cropped top or dress up with a polo shirt tucked in. I’m 130 pounds with waist 28-30 inches depending on how many beers I have in a week. I wear size 28.
