Heavy protein powder user here, of all types (whey, casein, pea, rice, beef, etc.)-- this product works really well for night protein use (casein is a slow release protein) or in meal replacements to stay full longer during the day. It is clean with minimal ingredients, and Levels does a good job with sourcing and testing-- they are one of the few brands I trust. The chocolate flavor is mild and not super sweet... if you prefer plain protein powders or just like less sugar/ sweetness/ flavoring, this will be a good fit for you. If you like stronger flavors, then I would choose the Vanilla flaover which is much sweeter and stronger tasting compared to the chocolate. This is one of the easiest mixing casein powders I have used. That said, casein doesn't typically mix easily, so if you like smooth drinks then use a blender or frother wand to mix. I primarily drink in plain water or milk, but it would work well as a shake also. My devices are reported improved deep sleep over the last few weeks since I started using this protein, with no other changes to training/ schedule/ work/ stress. And so far training has been good as well. Will keep using this and will report back if anything changes.

This tastes great and it is an excellent source of casein. Also mixes well. I did some rough calculations and it is slightly less expensive than obtaining the same amount of protein from cottage cheese!

Tastes pretty good, but with a slight powder taste. Barely taste the chocolate. I was hoping to have it as a substitute for hot chocolate before bed. Not perfect, but it'll do.

I get the vanilla so that any flavor I put in it will not be masked. The taste is great, the texture is very, very good, and I get enough protein with one scoop for a whole day. I researched this product and there are very few insects added as there are in most others. I can’t say there are none, because I’m not sure. I would hope so.

The taste of the chocolate is better than I expected and better than a lot of others that I've tried. The texture isn't super smooth, but that seems to be the case with other brands of casein that I've had. I'll definitely purchase this again.

So, I do recommend this product, but do NOT buy it from Amazon and buy it directly from the Levels website to avoid wasting your money on stale products. I have bought the 2lb tub from Amazon on repeat in the past, it has been a pantry staple. That is until this last time where I finally decided to get the 4lb tub. The 4lb tub is completely stale and inedible. I contacted Levels support, and they cannot issue refunds for Amazon issued products. I suspect that the product got overheated or something in Amazon’s storage or transport system. Lesson learned: Buy directly from the Levels website, they have product guarantees and full support there. That aside, Levels Vanilla Casein protein powder is amazing. I cannot process much fake sugar, and there is very minimal in here. It packs a fantastic protein punch— 24g of protein for 100 calories is unbeatable. The vanilla flavor is very versatile, great as just a protein drink, blended into smoothies, and perfect for protein baking where I usually use equal parts of whey and casein.

This product tastes fine but it is a bit chalky. I've shaken it, let it sit, shaken more and still chalky but! It has the nutrients I am seeking and need so I can deal with it. It does give me some bloat as milk has done that to me all my adult life but it's not horrible, I drink at night and it dissipates. Whether or not I purchase again I'm uncertain. I've only been using it about a week and I want to see if this actually does help with my muscle gain and calorie burn.
