    • Valve 3 STICKS!
Full disclosure, I'm am a novice trumpet player as I haven't played since middle school. That being said, I've been unable to actually "play" this trumpet because the #3 Valve sticks horribly and the slow release makes it unusable. I have disassembled it, cleaned it, "spun the valve" (to attempt to wear off micro burs from factory), re-oiled and repeated the entire process, twice. #3 STILL STICKS!!! To add insult to injury, the valve button inlay just flew off!!! So I have an unplayable instrument that I can not get the valve to slide smoothly so that it is actually playable, pieces flying off the thing, and it's not even actually "in use" yet, and paid how much...? I've had plastic trumpets operate better than this and I know it happens, but this is the FIRST trumpet I've had that the button inlay actually just fell out!!! So for $500 I would definitely advise looking into something different. Any advice on this frickin valve, besides smashing the thing, would be greatly appreciated! ... show more

Such a beautiful instrument! The sound is warm and the valves are extremely responsive! I’m very impressed especially considering how relatively inexpensive it was. I definitely recommend!!

Five days ago I paid $27 more for this trumpet. I do not see any form of price guarantee. My grandson likes the trumpet. He has one year experience in high school marching band.

I tried this trumpet when it was about $500. It’s much easier to play than another trumpet here that cost half its price. I don’t know if it’s the bore size (size of the tubing) or shape of the curves and valves, but it just feels good to put air through it. The sound is great. It definitely is more like my 80-yr-old CONN than the cheaper option. The sound Is warm and loud. I have trouble playing exactly in tune, but my music store guy says that the variation I’m experiencing is normal. On the other hand it is not a new Bach strat. There are places where I can see solder bulging. Valves are clanky, tuning slides has uneven coloration hinting at rust. Valve caps feels cheap. The valves may not seal as tightly as a strat based on the resistance felt when pulling out third and first valve slide. On the other hand I cannot lubricate the first and third tuning slide enough to make it slide as easily as on a strat…. The exterior of the trumpet is… dirty, for lack of better description. I find that I’m unable to clean it up to a shiny smooth surface. I’m not sure if it’s because the item I received was used? I want to say there’re small scratches in it but then I can’t really see the scratches. It just isn’t shiny, even after a good polish with soft micro fab cloth. But it also is not that “scratched” finish in the fancy horns. Feels like some grime or dirt I cannot clean off. This might be improved if the vendor starts shipping completely new horns… But having said that, I would definitely let my kid take this to school to learn trumpet.
