I'm using this as a backup dog bed in my living room, and so far my dog loves it. He plops right now on it and goes to sleep. It seems well made, although - as other reviewers have stated - it did have a strong chemical smell when I first opened the package. However, it disappeared after about 3 hours. I haven't had to clean it, but it seems like it would be easy to wipe off or throw in the wash (the case is removable). Overall, my dog Charlie seems happy with it, and so am I. Four barks from Charlie.

For the first 3 or 4 hours after receiving and assembling the dog bed it had a typical off-gassing smell. After that dissipated I have not noticed it again. The cover seems soft but durable and it was easy to put on and remove. Our dog seems to enjoy the bed well enough, he uses it often which is is more than any other bed we have purchased him. Overall, I would gladly recommend.

My dog loves this dog bed. Although we don’t use crates, we ordered this to put on our sectional as it’s our dog’s favourite place to nap! As this dog bed is described as a crate pad I was expecting it to be much thinner and less substantial. I was therefore pleasantly surprised at how thick it is! It can easily be used as a stand-alone dog bed without a crate. The filling arrived vacuum packed and required some manipulating in order to spread it out evenly across the bed. The filling feels somewhat like a beanbag – it’s not super firm and sort of envelops you as you lie down. My dog absolutely loves this effect. We have a mattress topper that has a similar, bouncy/engulfing feel which is his other go-to spot in our apartment! The cover is superb. It’s easy to remove when it requires a wash and it’s super soft to the touch. It feels just like some of our softest fleece blankets and my dog clearly appreciates how cosy it is to lie on!

The media could not be loaded. If you are looking for a dog bed with loose filling that kind of conforms to the shape of your dog, you will probably love this. If you wanted something with more of a structured memory foam boxiness, you would probably be disappointed. It really just depends on what you need. The plus side of this is that it is somewhat water resistant on one side and more water resistant on the other. It also has a removable cover for easy washing in case it wasn’t waterproof enough. The stuffing seems to be loose pieces of foam. I could see how this would be particularly helpful for an arthritic dog that might not be able to step up easily to a more structured bed. It also conforms to the dog’s shape and weight. I find that appealing. The fabric side of the bed is not cottony soft, but I think it is made that way to be more stain resistant. If you want something softer, you can always cover with a baby blanket or something like that. I ordered the large and I find it very suitable for my medium sized dog. If you have a large dog, I would suggest going with extra large.

At the moment this product has a very strong chemical smell, it is so overwhelming that I had to just put the bed in my garage for now. I will update the review if this changes but as of right now I would not put this bed in my house let alone let my dogs sleep on it with this smell. UPDATE: I let it air out in my garage for about a month and washed the cover and the smell is gone. My dog really enjoys this bed and it gets to be super fluffy which supports his joints. Just have to give this bed a little air out phase and time to fluff up and I think you will be happy with your purchase.
