I am a full believer of making sure I have certain things on hand, just in case I might need them. Well, this is definitely one of those items that everyone needs to have around!! Now, I will admit that I am a smoker, although I have been cutting down drastically as of the last several months. (hopefully I can keep it up!) and one of my the things that annoys me so much is when my lighter quits or I'm not able to purchase lighter fluid. I'm sure a lot of people can relate to that! Well, if you purchase this handy dandy item, you will never have to be in that position again!! No more buying disposable lighters or cans of lighter fluid!! Just flick the little switch on the bottom, then push the black button on the side upwards and viola!! It is awesome and can mean so much in emergency situations. Now, I will tell you something about this that I did not know about.... If you have any pets like we do (4 cats) don't be shocked or upset or something like that if your pet freaks out the moment you push the side button upward and you see that little bit of lightning. I think that the sound frequency that comes from it is unpleasant to them. However, after a lot of research and talking to professionals, this is not harmful to them at all. It's basically like how some people are when hearing nails on a chalkboard. So I just wanted to give you a heads up about this because I did not know that. Other than that, I've been using this off and on for months now and it's just fantastic!! Perfect for lighting candles, especially when it's birthday candles and you're outside with windy conditions. I definitely recommend this to everyone.

So far I am loving this lighter. It's like a gift from the future that we didn't realize we needed. If you're a candle addict like myself, you'll find yourself going through lighters like crazy. They just don't last like they used to, and matches are for emergencies only in this household. Frightening little fire sticks, really. But the fact that this lighter came with a charger to somehow keep pumping life into this futuristic gadget makes me want to dive into whatever other related scientific creations I've yet to discover that will make my life simpler. I feel very fancy using it also. Not a boujee girl but, not hating on it either. Hate having company normally but I'm excited to have an excuse to whip this thing out and show it off. Bought with my birthday money amongst other practical adult things and this is giving *more bang for your buck / boujee* all in one. Can't rate the battery life unfortunately because it is still brand new but I am excited to see how long this bad boy lasts. Here's to fall candles and being boujee on a budget, and thank you to Catherine Benson for bringing these into my life via your tiktok cleaning & restock videos that are my personal therapy. ~Slay~

The media could not be loaded. This electric arc lighter is pretty neat-O! I’m not sure if $19.99 was a fair price for it but it still is pretty cool... that’s about it. I think lighters are better at lighting a candle than these. With some candles it’s easier to light than others. I had one candle that it would not light the wick(it was a regular wick not a wooden) for 6 tries. I’m sure that a flame would’ve lit it on the first try instead of 6th but...? Just something cool to try I guess but def not worth the amount paid. Hope my daughter likes it after I’ve played around with it 😬LOL! If she asks, I did it for reviewing purposes🤫 In the video I’m lighting a wooden wick & it is really fast at lighting those! It comes with a charging cable but not the adapter, which is fine. I have a bunch laying around but just so people are aware you will need a usb outlet or a usb adapter. You have to flip the switch on before using the lighter & turn off to preserve battery(see picture of the bottom of lighter.) it lights up blue at the bottom to show it’s on. Made in China... of course.

Writing this review a year and a month after buying it. I charged it when I first got it, and I finally had to charge it for the second time yesterday. Yep. That's it. To be fair, I haven't been lighting candles all day every day, but I have been using the thing! I only turn it on when I'm about to use it, and then it goes back off. I'm never going back to traditional lighters again. I still keep matches for emergency situations. Even though this holds a charge for a long time, it would really suck to have it die on you during a power outage. But for lighting candles when you want a nice ambiance and you're not in crisis mode, it's ideal.
