They have a stretch waistband (not elastic) that gives you another inch or so (maybe a little less.). I like the six pockets and deep front pockets. I have 4 pair of these….when I find something I like and fits well, I get a couple pairs (different colors). I like the length is slightly above the knee and there’s a pocket in the right for my phone. I don’t think a large/max phone would fit, but a normal iPhone 12 fits just fine. Also like the flex waist band. A 38 was way too big, but 36 (after being washed and dried) was a little tight. This flex waist band keeps things fitting really well all day. ... show more

Awesome shorts! These shorts are comfy and lightweight. They are great for the hot summer days. I like the cargo pockets. Deep enough for storing my phone and keys. Some reviewers claimed these shorts ran a little large. I find the waist is a little tight. I was hoping for a little more stretch in a "Extreme Motion" short, but these are very nice shorts.

Took over a month to receive my order. Ordered 2 of the same color in size 38. One pair fits perfect the other pair I can not even button. So they vary quite a bit

    • They Run Big...3-inches Big!

It's a good thing I used the "Try Before You Buy" feature. My waist measures 36" using a seamstress cloth tape measure. So, I order four pair of shorts, size 36. They were so big, that I measured the waist of these shorts and they measured 39", using the same tape measure. They were tagged as 36, just so you know. Since they were 3" larger than advertised, I exchanged them for size 33. The 33's fit perfectly. So, the bottom line is that they run 3" larger than stated. ... show more
