I own the Icon toolbox from Harbor freight. It has the hutch on top with the LED light from Harbor Freight (made for the ICON hutch) and it’s CRAZY bright. However the stainless steel work surface has a lip in front and does a great job at blocking that light in the hutch from reaching the tools in the drawers. Running a led strip under that lip would light everything in my drawers. I went to Lowe’s and bought the best one they sold with a motion sensor and power supply. The LED strip wasn’t bright enough to notice it was even on and it cost twice as much as this one. I needed something similar to the one I spent over 100 bucks on that came in the hutch. This LED strip is EXACTLY what I hoped for. It’s SO much brighter than the crap I bought at Lowe’s. The light quality is outstanding. Very even, well diffused and fills the area. The media could not be loaded. Couldn’t fathom spending $350 on a set of pre made portal lights. So i purchased the waterproof strip, some 2 pin waterproof connectors (5 pack for $14.99 on amazon), and a pack of jb weld clear epoxy to fill in where i cut to re-waterproof them. Edit: 2/24/24- all the lights are still working as new. No complaints! Have these on my truck as wheel lights and are very bright. We shall see how they hold up tho with heat and weather. Says they are water proof. Where I cut them to fit I filled the open with hot glue so should be pretty sealed. No adhesive on the backs. Just used zipties to install. ... show more
