Review Update: Still looks very nice after 20 months of ownership. Good product IMO. Initial review: Really pleased. It opens up nice and wide, making it easier to pack stuff. I like how the leather seems firmer and can stay kind of upright. Nice sophisticated appearance (but also kinda hip!) for both mature and youthful travellers. Zipper, straps , pockets and lining are not cheap looking. Ideal size for a flight carry-on. Amazon photos are pretty accurate. The only negative is that the finish seems to mark and scratch easily after usage. Some might say that makes for a nice weathered look. However, I’d rather it didn’t mark so easily. In summary, I definitely recommend this product but with a minor caveat as mentioned above. ... show more

Waited to review the bag until I used it on a trip as a carry-on. Excellent bag. Leather is soft but firm enough to keep its shape and the bag stays upright while you’re packing/unpacking it. I was able to fit a weeks’ worth of clothing (tightly rolled) plus phone chargers and hygiene products in it without any problems. I packed it pretty tight, but the zippers are strong and did not give way. Separately, I purchased an inexpensive collapsible cart with wheels and bungee cords to fasten the bag to, and I was able to wheel it easily around the airport. Initially when I received the bag from Amazon, I was a little disappointed because the bag in the ad had a well-traveled, antiquey sheen to the leather, and the bag I received was unblemished, leather uniformly colored and in perfectly shape. However, after returning from my first trip, I noticed that the leather now shows a nice patina, and I really like that weathered leather look. I definitely recommend this bag as an overnight bag, and an airplane carry-on. I wouldn’t use it as a gym bag because leather absorbs odors. Buy this bag. I did extensive reviews of these leather duffle bags before settling on the Aaron Leather Goods bag. Initially I was really hesitant to purchase this type of item online because it would make things so much easier to be able to handle the item and make in person judgments, but where do you find several choices of leather duffles in one place? The Aaron was the right size, at 20" length this was perfect for me, any bigger would be too big. The quality, the workmanship, and the seams were top notch. The zippers are metal and appear to be industrial strength, The leather itself is quite substantial, heavy duty and somewhat stiff, however since leather tends to give a bit and get more pliable as it is used, not really an issue. The color and appearance are true to the photos. All in all, I'm very pleased with the quality of this bag. ... show more

I think you would be hard pressed to find a better quality bag for this price, seems to be well stitched and excellent quality leather. Some small marks to be noted on the hide but nothing you should not expect from a leather product. I purchased this as an addition to a similar bag I already had which is probably a bit better quality but was 4 times the price, if I did it over again I would probably get 2 of these and save the 300+ bucks... ... show more

This review is for the Leather Travel duffle bag in walnut. I bought this bag for my husband to travel for work. He loves it. It is a great size and very well made. I read the reviews before I purchased it and one of the main complaints I found was that it smelled bad? Our bag did not smell funny or bad. It is a leather bag so you will have a slight leather treatment smell, however, the bag to not fill the room or the house with some terrible aroma.
