I have purchased two different coding critters. Skye the unicorn is the one with more precise movements that correlate with the codes. A right or left turn code, for example, is closer to a 90° angle. I did not use the wand accessory much, nor the different coding modes. They were fun for the children to see sometimes, but I didn't feel they coincided with the objectives I had for my preschool classes. Update: we had to exchange our first one, as written below, the remote didn't work straight out of the box with new batteries. The new one is awesome! Kids love it! Does exactly what it's supposed to. Daughter that got the kitty cat without the remote is now jealous of the remote. Lol ----_-----_----_-----_----- Straight out of the box, with brand new batteries, ours is not working. I have reached out to customer support for help. I'll see how it turns out and adjust our review then. We got the kitty cat coding critter too and it's working great. Kitty cat has buttons on its back and doesn't have a remote, which seems to be our weak link. Both kids are fighting over it now. It's pretty awesome. But I got two for a reason... 🤦 ... show more

This is so much fun and easy to use. Bought it for a 3 year old knowing it was a little below recommended age guidelines and they have no problems figuring it out and using it! Just as much fun for the adults as kids. We played for most of Christmas together with this!

I bought this in October for Christmas. Of course the return window was long gone by November. She played with it Christmas Day, then the next day it stopped functioning properly. The nose sensor is broken. Makes for a pretty boring toy. I tried contacting support for a replacement but that was a while back. Pretty upset to have wasted the money. Bought it for Christmas and my daughter has been playing with it every day since. There are so many spells available and the second mode is also very enjoyable. We have yet to understand how to use the cards but she loves it so far.
