It held up for a good amount of time through all the showering, sweat and humidity until it started tarnishing. I Purchased both this necklace and the matching bracelet , (The cancer/july Birthstone variants) for my long-time girlfriend, and although she's yet to see it, I'm very impressed with the craftsmanship. They shipped the jewelry in the standard amazon package, and the jewelry itself was kept in sparkly boxes that I'm quite fond of. The pendant for the necklace is the perfect size, and you'd be forgiven for thinking that it's far more expensive than it truly is. Although I cannot speak for the quality over time, my first impressions are overwhelmingly positive, and I highly recommend it to any prospective buyers; in this item you'll find a bargain that I feel my camera does not do justice, and possibly the Christmas gift you've been looking for. Third time ordering it as the clasp would not stay fastened. Lost the other two. Praying this clasp holds. I lose this one and I'll probably cry because it's so beautiful. Order it. Just pay attention when putting it on that it's clasped closed.
