  • Best for very lightweight fabrics.
These weights are not terribly heavy but I knew that when I bought them. They can work for very lightweight/fine sheers. My drapes were just a little too stiff for them to work really well. I suggest going with something heavier if you are really in doubt.. They did arrive very quickly and we're well packaged. ... show more

  • Great product, great value.
I didn't know you could get these but they were so useful to put in the hem of a short stretchy dress that would ride up. I opened a small hole in a seam and fed them around with a safety pin like you would elastic and it went in very easily. My one mistake was to not leave it loose enough and I was walking like a strung-up chicken on the way to my stepson's wedding! I got a pair of scissors and undid the seam and cut through my sewing and all was well! Should have made time for a "dress rehearsal"! My own fault! Have loads left over. Great value. Great that they are cotton covered ... show more

These are nice and easy to use. I know that lead is a bad word these days, but I would prefer that heavier material to the steel beads in this one, and the weight is embedded in plenty of material to avoid potential contamination of the environment, if that were even realistic for something like this. But the lead equivalent is hard to find, so I ended up with this. I have very sheer curtains that needed some weight, and these work pretty well, but could be heavier. These were the heaviest I could find. ... show more

Perfect to put in the bottom of a homemade shower curtain that will have a liner so the metal won't get wet. It will weigh down the fabric just perfectly so that it doesn't billow out.

  • Thick
I was expecting the plus or minus 1/8" diam. fiber covered lead weights I used to buy at cloth world, joanns, etc. This product is 1/4" diam. It's not as heavy as I would expect it to be; evidentally, each lead "bead" contains less lead than the old standard. I made it work, but I wish the description would include clearer info ... show more

  • Exactly the right weight
Hemmed an 84 inch shower curtain put these in the hem and it worked perfectly.

  • Great for keeping my lightweight curtains from fluttering in the breeze
It did the job and I was able to use a safety pin to thread it through the bottom hem of my curtain panels. They would flutter when the door opened from the breeze and the weighted string is just enough to hold them down, but light enough that look natural. Good product.

  • Probably Best for Sheer Weight Curtains
It wasn't advertised to be good for my mid-weight drapes, so no fault of the product. But it's a somewhat lighter weight than I would have liked for my mid-weight drapes. I put two layers in each panel. Would be great for sheers.
