  • Great Sand Blaster
This sand blaster works great! I was surprised to see how easily and well it works. I was also surprised as how much blasting material it went through for a small job. Be ready for the blasting material to be EVERYWHERE! I used it inside my home to blast a part that could not be removed. Be ready for the blasting material to be everywhere in the room. It took more time to clean up afterwards than it did to do the job. That being said, it does a very good job. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone needing to clean parts that are too difficult to get at with any other method. ... show more

  • Simple, well built and effective!
I use this to soda blast small parts for old Westinghouse fan restorations. It seems to work well even though my compressor puts out lower CFM than is required. I'm actually considering upgrading my compressor so that I can use this with more projects. Very satisfied!

  • Disappointed it didn't last
I first tried the gravity feed unit which did an OK job, but refilling the small container every few mins was a pain. Sent it back and tried this siphon feed unit which worked ok, but after about 4 uses, it failed making a noise. Looked like a piece of small plastic broke off within the nozzle. Could not free it without taking the whole unit apart. Sent it back got a different all metal gun which seems so far to be more robust and found the siphon was stronger (larger hose) at about 1/2 the price of thus unit. A word of advice for amateur sand blasters like me; eye goggles are worthless. Get a full face shield and use gloves and long sleeve shirts, or you will find media painfully pounding you skin and getting in your face, nose, hair, and ears. ... show more

  • A toy, total waste of money, does not work
Wanted to clean rust and original paint off the back of a piece of my 56 Panel truck where I couldn't get stripping pad. Panel was too large to fit in my table top blast cabinet. First this thing is almost all plastic, came with only one nozzle, not two, no other accessories. Came with a card saying if I went to the manufacturers website I would receive a free inline filter tho. when I did that it said filter was no longer available even tho they would sell me one! Extra nozzles were 14.00! Bought crushed glass blast media which is excellent for paint removal and available in small amount at my local big box discount tool store to test blaster, filled hopper 3/4 full. cranked up pressure on my large stationary compressor to 150#. First when I opened the hopper feed, media started freely pouring out nozzle. But when I pulled the trigger so little media came out I couldn't even see the stream. I started on an area of old primer only. I blasted the area for > 10 minutes to remove an area about the size of a nickle down to metal. At that rate it would take MONTHS to blast the whole panel! Checking the hopper it was near empty! The small cheap blasting gun in my table top blast cabinet does a far better and faster job. Conclusion: This is an expensive toy not a real tool that wastes pricey media without doing any real work. Don't waste your money. It's being returned immediately. ... show more

  • Use this properly and it will serve you well
This is a great, affordable and well-designed product for small projects, like the refreshing of my bench vise. I've owned other sandblasters in the past, so I knew that the "suction" aspect of this unit would, at best, work marginally. Not a fault of this unit, it's just that blaster suction hoses immediately create an air cavity and a void and don't work well. If you have a big project, get a pressurized sandblaster that feeds from the bottom. So, knowing that, I used a coal-slag medium to do my blasting, reloading the reservior about five times to finish the vise. Keep the gun level (move the piece so you can do that) and you'll be fine. Also...for a good job: Heed the PSI specs. My two-tank Ingersoll-Rand has trouble maintaining 90 PSI, but it got the job done. Also, don't even think about using this or any media blaster without a moisture remover installed in the line. I installed mine at the compressor, so all the air in the hose was dry. If you don't do this, your media will likely clog at the nozzle. High ratings for this one. Now go have fun in the garage! ... show more
