I had received a Le Creuset like this one but in blue from my workplace as a gift for an incentive I won. I loved it so much that I had to order one for a friend for Christmas. This casserole/roasting dish is so incredible. Everything I bake in it comes out more tender, flavorful, and evenly baked than it would if I made the same meal in a different bakeware pan - including ones with a lid! While Le Creuset products are heavier, you can't beat the quality that stands the test of time. I was first introduced to Le Creuset almost 30 years ago by a friend who had inherited her mother's stovetop set that was many years old. Fast forward to years later when I was gifted one from work and my baking life changed! Not only are these built to last, which is such a rarity these days, but they are surprisingly easy to clean. I've had baked on food that I thought would be challenging to clean but I simply soak it in water for a few minutes and it comes off with ease. With this particular set I tend to remove a rack beforehand in my oven so that I can use the lid without any issues. I could raise my top rack higher to get it to fit but I don't want to risk scratching the handle on the lid (not that it would), but with the cost of this set I want to do everything I can to steward it well so that it lasts for decades to come. If there were a bakeware/cookware item that appreciated in value after purchase, then Le Creuset would be that item. The price that you pay is totally worth it, especially when it's something that will last many years to come - long after your brand new car has no life left in it - your Le Creuset item will still be working like the first day you purchased it. ... show more

I have some of the Le Creuset cast iron pans and recently started getting some of the stoneware to match my cookware. As is all of the Le Creuset cookware, this piece is beautiful, both for cooking and for serving. I love that it can be used in the microwave and oven, and that it is dishwasher safe. It also cleans up beautifully. If anything sticks, wait a bit for it to cool and let hot water sit in it a bit while you eat dinner. Anything stuck will wipe right out. I have been extremely happy with all of the Le Creuset stoneware, and would highly recommend it. I would also recommend that you check prices on WalMart for the pieces that you want. If they have them, they are much less expensive than Amazon prices. ... show more

I made a delicious whole chicken with vegetables in this dish. I cooked it with the cover off.. The chicken came out so moist and delicious and the vegetables were all perfectly cooked. I also cooked a roast pork with a salt and pepper herb mixture covered with apricot jam and topped with dried apricots and poured red wine over it. I let it cook at 350 degrees surrounded by small potatoes, carrots, and small turnips. I cooked it with the cover on for an hour and then I took the lid off and let it brown a bit on top watching it and checking the temperature inside with my meat thermometer about 45-60 minutes. The pork came out so moist. and we all enjoyed it out of the pretty dish. The pot is such a beautiful color and I so enjoy looking at it while I am cooking with it. ... show more

This item broke in half during baking the second time I used it. I have never seen this before and have purchase a LOT of Le Creuset stoneware. Amazon refers you to the manufacturer whose Chat function doesn't work. I have an email complaint pending with Le Creuset.

This is a great, large casserole dish. Mine is actually blue (apparently no long offered). I use it primarily to bake curries for pot luck dinners, and it holds a double recipe easily. It is also good for use as a serving dish for other foods. I like it enough that if I broke it accidentally, I would go buy it again. ... show more
