I used other types of grips but I felt the heat, and cleaning them was not easy. Afterwards the grips looked terrible with stains, even after washing. But these grips look new all of the time. When I am cooking at 500 degrees, my hands feel safe gripping the pot with these grips. The material "grabs" the metal and I never feel any slipping, and if you cook a lot, you know the issues that come with cheap grips. Washing and drying these grips is in minutes. I have been wanting a bigger pair of hot holders aside from the Trudeau Red ones I had, and these are great! I have had a few Le Creuset cast iron pots already, but just never thought to get these. Now I know I should have gotten them sooner! They work great with all my pots. High quality!
