    • Why are there No Great Gun Cleaning Kits? Case Sucks.
Unfortunately the carrying case that is designed for this case, the plastic "slots" that are supposed to hold the cleaning rod pieces is defective. The rods don't snap in as they should. This is on the part of the case that becomes the top when it is closed. Thus when you close the case, the rods fall out of their slots and you either can't close the case, or it is just in disarray when you open the case. Yes, a piece of tape keeps this from happening, but should you have to? Something about gun cleaning kits that there is always something wrong. On the positive side, this cleaning kit actually has good solid cleaning rods pieces, and a wide assortment of brushes and such. Would have gotten 5 stars if not for the case issue. ... show more

Okay, so this isn't the top of the line, but it works well enough. the photo makes it look like every part has a form fitting space to fit, but the 2 plastic brushes just kind of sit in the holes with the bottles and the patch holders just kind of float around. everything works well, but the case could have a better design to it. I first thought that the extendable poles were malfunctioning because you couldn't twist them with the handles, then after using them i realized they're designed to be free floating so they twist automatically with the grooves in the barrel of your firearm, so it's less likely to scratch the inside and change the rotation of your ammo. ... show more

For years I've been hoping to take up hunting. I have been out to the range a couple times this year and now it's time to clean my Marlin 30-30.
