This leveling tool works beautifully! Every year I try to level my lawn but it remains lumpy-bumpy despite growing beautiful thick grass. I discovered this product after watching numerous how-to videos and reading reviews. I chose the 42 inch size because it stands to reason that the wider the tool the more consistent the level and grade will be. It is of the highest quality and offers the improved design over competitors of rounded edges so that it will glide over the surface; teeth that help it to slide over grass without getting stuck; sturdy long handle; and it is heavy so it helps to compact the soil you are adding for an even surface while staying firmly flat on the ground. It took a little bit of playing with it to figure out how to hold it so that both the front and back are level on the ground. I have yet to manage pushing it but there is no need. I would have spent hours with a small rake trying but not succeeding in leveling added soil. This leveler did it to perfection in minutes. I just dragged it behind me traversing my yard in multiple directions. If you have lots of small tight spaces you probably will want a narrower version. Don't hesitate to buy this awesome tool if you are planning to level a lawn. I know it will also make light work of leveling my stone-dust driveway.

The handle is much heavier metal than one would expect. The bolt-through couplings are tricky, difficult to get enough torque to tighten esp with one end a screwhead vs a nut, can’t really torque it so the handle is a bit floppy.

I had a few areas where I wanted to put in some gardens. It was pretty much a mess - the previous owners had put down landscape fabric and mulch, but the weeds had grown through it and the ground was uneven. I pulled the whole mess up, and laid down some soil we had hauled in. I used this rake to smooth it all out, and it worked great. It's heavy, and it did worked really well to level everything out. I watered everything down well, let it rest and repeated a couple of times over a week's time to make sure any low spots didn't sink in. The rake requires assembly, but it's simple and quick to put it together. The pieces are finished with a thick coat of hammered paint that looks very durable. The rake is super heavy for someone like me. It wasn't one that I could just push back and forth like a typical garden rake. I had to drag it around as if I was a tractor. It was absolutely the tool I needed for the job though, and I'm very happy with the results.

This product is very effective at its purpose. Assembly was simple; I went from box to using it in about 5 minutes. I was very impressed with the quality material this rake is made from. It feels very robust and I was really surprised at the size of the rake itself. I am able to do big parts of my lawn at a time. One thing to note, this rake is heavy. It helps a lot with moving soil, but I am not able to use it for extended periods of time over large areas. Overall, I have been very satisfied with this purchase and I am enjoying using it to level out my yard!

This rake is heavy in weight, with a very long handle, and not that sturdy after tightening all the bolts. The instructions show a diagram, but no definite instructions on the tools needed to assemble this product. I was disappointed in the instructions and the product in general.

not a lot to say about this rake--it does what it is supposed to do...its very heavy and took a little time to assemble but once together I won't take it apart again so thats not a big deal. it makes quick work of leveling out uneven spots or after filling in holes so I'm happy with it overall

I got this because my yard is lumpy, and I have a few areas that I want to level out. It didn't do so well on my established grass areas, but performed beautifully where bark mulch had piled up and I was leveling that to plant grass. It's heavy and sticks to the ground and doesn't flop around when going over a bump. Lots of teeth on the bottom to allow the dirt to pass between as the other sections push and pull the excess dirt away. It was very easy to assemble coming in 4 pieces that really needed no directions for assembly. The long handle makes it easy to reach places and stay well ahead of the rake. For my application though the handle was too long. I wish the center piece of the handle could be removed for a shorter handle. But it cannot be assembled without it. Because I could have used a shorter handle its ease of use was a little less than 5 stars for me. I look forward to using this as I put more soil down to level the rest of my yard. I really like the metal finish too. It's got a cool texture to it making it look older than it really is. The other thing I wish was that the rubber handle was longer at the top and that it had another rubber handle that could be positioned on the handle for your other hand. But overall, it's a great tool and I'm very happy it's in my tool shed.

We needed this and used this because someone thought that spraying dandelions meant spraying them in a sweep rather than one at a time... impatient person. So there was a huge chunk of grass that died along with the dandelions. That was last year. This year we figured that we would replace that patch. We got a truckload of dirt and used this to level it. It did an awesome job. It made a difficult job easy. It was easy to make the ground even. The only thing that I would recommend to someone is to look at the dimensions. This is not a small light piece of equipment. We got the large one that is 6.5ft by 17x10" it is not for the faint of heart. It even gives my hubby a good workout. If you are a short and small like I am... I would get the smaller rake. It will be much easier to use.
