Wow, I was surprised just how heavy duty this tool is particularly because it came in four pieces that get put together. BUT, it actually is very, very sturdy once assembled. I am not using this to aerate my yard...that would take forever to do with a small tool like this. However, it is perfect for me to use to aerate my vegetable garden rows after a long winter of the soil compacting. The length is adjustable which is great as I am a bit on the shorter side but my husband is able to lengthen it to suit his height as well. I also appreciate the soft foam covers on the handles. Even though I pretty much always wear gloves in the garden, the foam prevents wrist and hand fatigue. The rebounding spring action works well, even in somewhat overly damp soil. I would not use it in oversaturated soil though as it would most likely clog the holes and need washing off. I'd rather wait to use it on a drier day. All in all this is a great tool, great weight, great size and very good at its job of breaking up and aerating the soil!! That is a 5-star garden too and worth every bit of the cost!

First thing I noticed right out of the box is this thing is pretty heavy! It feels well made and not flimsy at all - should, hopefully, be pretty durable. Second thing I noticed was the assembly instructions were pretty basic. Fortunately there isn’t much to the assembly at all so could really do it with a moments thought without any instructions. Even though it’s winter, my ground wasn’t frozen so I was able to try it out. It seems to function fine - very straightforward use. However, it hasn’t rained here in sometime so the ground was pretty solid even though it wasn’t frozen and I wasn’t really able to get the spikes very deep into the ground. That said, I feel like weight factors in for using this in some conditions. When the ground is wet I’ll like have a better time of it. For an average sized man, it likely won’t be a factor at all. Overall though I’m very pleased and think it will make a big difference getting grass to grow in some patchy areas of my yard. Would have liked for it to be a bit cheaper but at least it seems to do the job.

This lawn aerator tool is quite heavy and very sturdy. It is very easy to assemble, and the height of the handle is adjustable. Although it is not designed to be adjusted on the fly, there are several holes to choose from when assembling the handle and afterwards you would need to partially disassemble it again to change. The aerator work as designed and is straightforward to use. It is a heavy tool and has sturdy springs so does require a bit of strength to work it. The spikes are very sharp, so be careful when assembling, it can puncture skin if you're not careful.

I use this aerator tool for compacted areas in my yard and it works great. Well made and the design makes it very easy to use. I love that the spikes are not hollow, so there is no clogging. The handle height is adjustable and padded for comfort. Great for small areas and you could definitely use for large areas, but it would take time and be tiring. Very impressed and would highly recommend.

I got this to replace some aerator sole tool, where you literally stomp into the soil..I thought it would be easy, but it was far from it. This though, is actually easy! The spring loaded bottom makes picturing Texas clay based soil a lot less strenuous. The springs also make it so the dirt quickly comes off the spikes. There are over 20 spikes too, making for a robust and less time intensive effort. The parts are all made of rust resistant metal except for the handle, so it lasts and cab be used every year. The footboard that you step on is large enough for my 11 US Mens size shoes, to make for a comfortable press. If you are looking at manual aerators, this is the perfect tool! I would highly recommend!

Right now where I live it's winter and the ground is well frozen so it's not possible to test just yet however I'll offer a few thoughts real quick and a more detailed update once spring comes and I can actually use it. Off the bat, no assembly instructions is weak - they don't tell you which side the washer should be on and no explanation of the heights or where you should set it based on your height, etc. It assembled easy enough (only 2 bolts) and it looks decently constructed however I don't expect anything magical since this just pushed spikes down in the ground when what you really need is hollow spikes that eject the material inside when lifting up. I don't think it'll net me great results but I'm willing to try it out - it's mainly for the areas a bigger aerator can't get to so at least it's use will be minimal - if you were looking for this tool to do your entire yard all I can say is, I hope you have a tiny yard. For me this is an edge, corner, and otherwise detail tool for aerating a yard. It should accompany another tool which does the bulk of the lawn. The positives - it appears well built. - The handle may prove me wrong, but the bottom (business end) seems like it's fairly legit in it's construction so I'll give them praise on that. Once I get to use it in spring I'll come back and update the review if there is anything meaningful to add.

I bought this lawn aerator to help revive some compacted areas in my yard, and it has made a noticeable difference. The soil in a few spots was really dense, and this tool helped loosen it up so water and nutrients can actually soak in. It feels sturdy and well-built, and I like the adjustable height feature so I could set it to what felt most comfortable. The handle is easy to grip, and the design makes it straightforward to use, just step down and let it do the work. After a few passes, I could already see and feel the difference in the ground. It does take some effort, especially if your soil is very compacted, but that’s expected with a manual aerator. For smaller yards or targeted problem areas, it’s a great solution without having to rent a big machine. Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase. My lawn looks healthier, and I feel like I’m actually giving the grass a better chance to grow strong and thick this season.
