I recently purchased this product and used it for the first time and I was not pleased with it. I followed instructions as to putting either sand or stone in the drum for weight purposes. I kept adding and removing to try and get it just right but to no avail. This device was hard to push and it did more destruction to my yard than what it was intended for. Money wasted and I wouldn’t recommend it. I put it in the back of my shed to be never used again. I may even try to sell it or just scrap it. If I had to describe it in one word it would be …..JUNK!!!

I'm not going to use this item. It came in a box and you have to build the whole item yourself. You even have to put on the spikes. Then, you have to fill a bag (it comes with the bag) with gravel or sand, and put it in the center of the aerator. The instructions say it will ideally weigh about 3.5 KG. I wish this just came with the gravel that it needed for the center of it. I just decided to go with a different tool rather than mess with this one. I'm disappointed with the setup of this one.

This aerator is constructed with a high-grade durable alloy steel that feels extremely sturdy and like it will last a long time. It comes with each piece individually wrapped so no scratches or dents are present on any of them. Instructions are just pictures and numbers, so it slows down the assembly time. The process is tedious, especially attaching the spokes to the drum, rushing can get someone hurt. I'm not sure why they weren't already attached when it wouldn't have taken up much more space in the box. I'd advise to take your time to ensure the right screws are being used, and that the nuts and bolts are flush tight. Aerator without the added weight is pretty solid and heavy so filling the bag fully with rocks was just too heavy. Balanced out the rocks and stuffed the ends with the plastic it came wrapped in to keep them steady and not clinking all over the place. The plastic will soon have to be replaced with a more permanent solution. Using the tool does exactly what it's supposed to do, it's not as easy a glide as proposed but it gets the job done swiftly and efficiently. I would offer up 3 1/2 stars instead of 4 due to the assembly and the need for added weight.
