This was a game changer! For makeup purposes, I find it to be better than a regular cotton swab. My only observation is that it is not absorbant (like not at all), so if that's something important to you in a makeup swab, it might not be the best option.

I like that it's about the same size as a q-tip, and it does seem to work, for the most part. But the feel of it isn't quite the same as a regular q-tip, and since the tip isn't made from cotton, it doesn't seem to absorb moisture quite as well. I think it will take some getting used to, but it's definitely less wasteful. ... show more

Yes I’d love to be eco, but it’s not quite doing what it suggests. First of all I realize a big part of q-tips for me is absorbency, being silicone doesn’t do the job to replace cotton swabs. Secondly when I use it for makeup it’s very hard to get the product off from the swab to re-use it again, and the process often requires lots of oil/soap/water and I don’t feel so eco about it. The silicone has a seam on the side of the swabs itself and I really feel like I need to clean them well to prevent bacterias, hence more water needed = not so eco? I’m not sure anymore, great tipped shape though. ... show more

From reviews here and on youtube, I knew this wasn't absorbing. I bought it with intention to stop using disposable Q-tips, and to drape a thin piece of absorbant cotton (a dish towel, or Moroccoan style bath/beach towel) and use in ears. It has worked flawlessly for me. I hold the cotton and Q-tip a bit below base of the head of the Q-tip so as not to go too deep in the ear. The stem seems sturdy, ut I've only had it about a month or two; using it daily. I like to travel light, so for me, the case is massive for the size of the Q-tip;when I travel with it, I intend to house it in something else. ... show more

    • Really wanted this to work, but it didn't
I love the idea of having less impact on the environment. I use cotton swabs every day for my makeup, the ones with a paper shaft not plastic for obvious reasons. Was really in love with the idea of a reusable one! IT DID NOT WORK. At all. Seemed to be made of a rubber like material. Too smooth and non absorbent. I use them, among other things to put a clean edge to my eyeliner and all this did was smear it, it didn't pick anything up. Couldn't use it for cleaning, even ears, all it does is smear things around. Very disappointed!!! ... show more
