These 4-½ X 4-½ inch screw jacks, rated for a hefty 25,000 lbs, are specifically intended for leveling joists and flooring. They certainly feel robust and built for the job, especially with a 4.5-inch square post (which is a seriously strong piece of wood). The design for spreading the load, with holes in both the base plate and the receiver for the post, is a smart and essential safety feature. Note the photo shows a 4" X 4" post in the socket, for reference only. A minor initial snag was the somewhat rough threading on the screws. However, a quick application of grease smoothed things out considerably, allowing them to move much more easily under load. The rods that come with it seem adequate, if you're bending those, you might be over-stressing the jack itself. The stated travel is around 4 inches, though the screw length is 8 inches. It's important to remember you won't be using the full 8 inches of extension for safety and stability; a usable length closer to 6 inches is more realistic. You can easily manage this by adjusting the size of the wood block you place beneath the footpad or the length of the post. While I haven't put them to the test with maximum weight yet, I'm confident these screw jacks will perform as intended. I'm looking forward to giving them a thorough workout soon. They seem like a solid choice for serious leveling or lifting tasks.

These were perfect for tensioning a middle run joist below the stairwell under my house! I did end up shimming the sides while using a 4x4, as these appear to be made for different dimensional lumber for metric measurements, but totally usable! These are powder coated, but the quality isn't great on one and the burrs from cutting and drilling remained, enough to cut my finger while handling on outer edge. Some lube is recommend on the screw jack itself for easier tensioning/ expanding. The adjustment dowel rods are included. The holes on the bottom plate are not for 1/2", likely a metric value as well, but 3/8" diameter redhead sleeve anchors will keep these in place and prevent shifting. Screw jack threads appear to have a plating of some sort for corrosion, but doesn't appear to be galvanized

These are great and so glad they got here. We've been having to raise and level the floors in an older rent house. It had almost slipped off the back plate. We've been DIYing it a little at a time using the jacks we had. We were having issues because in places the joists needed raising higher than we trusted the jacks to do. So we were at a stand still until these arrived. They are wonderful. Very sturdy and safe and made for exactly this project. Plus they are made to lift as high as we needed. We basically have started back at the beginning and adjusting where needed and doing it right. So glad we found these. Great item. Good quality. Let us do the job the way it should be done.

The media could not be loaded. These heavy duty screw jacks will be getting the royal workout around here pretty soon. I recently acquired an old house built in 1887 which will be needing some help to get some modern touches. The screw jacks alone will get the foundation up to par. One of the center floor joists snapped in the center of the house. The bonus is... that's where the chimney is. I'm thinking all the high winds out here in middle America have taken its toll on this old house. These screw jacks will be more than sufficient to get the house back to level. In addition, take out the old 4" posts that hold up the surrounding patio roof and replace with some beefier 6" cedar posts. These screw jacks are so simple to use, and although the haven't been put to service yet, they operate so smoothly. I won't be doing this job alone. There is that risk of... "Has anybody seen Bob?", "Nobody has seen him in over a year!" I don't want to be that guy! These jacks are definitely worth the value, especially since you can get so much usage out of them and DIY your own issues.
