    • Great laser level for home projects
This laser level works very well for home projects. 1. It has two modes: Unlocked mode and Locked mode 2. Unlocked mode (Automatic Leveling Mode) uses the internal pendulum to keep the device plumb. This is the mode that is most often used. The laser crosshairs will be plumb with the vertical. 3. Locked mode is when the internal pendulum is locked and not used. The laser crosshairs will be relative to the surface that the device is placed on, which might not be leveled. 4. It uses 2 AA batteries and comes with a small User's Manual that describes the basic features of the device. 5. The green laser light is bright and highly visible. 6. Good product. Saved us a lot of time leveling the shed foundation footing. The laser light is a bit hard to see outdoor in sunlight. You'll need to point it at a white background and block direct sunlight, but it works.

    • Will do small jobs but not for heavy use
I picked this up on a lightening deal for $12. I'd say that is a fair price for it. I was using it to check the vertical level on some door jambs to make adjustments for the door to close better and it was on a small tripod I already had. I need the tripod because the vertical line starts to lose a lot brightness around 24" from the cross. So setting it on the floor made the top of vertical line hard to see at the top of the door - not impossible and you can definitely still see it, but not bright enough for me. I accidentally knocked it over and it fell about 2' onto a throw rug and the internal laser mounting got totally messed up. It was far beyond what it could self level and therefore total garbage after that. I sent it back as defective and got a new one. Description says "shock proof" but I wouldn't trust it on a job for a professional. I checked the new one against a 5' level I have and it is accurate. The horizontal line is bright for a larger distance but doesn't spread as wide as I hoped. I thought it would be close to 180 but it's probably around 120 degrees. I doubt it would be visible in a normally lit room from 100' away but it's good until at least 25 or 30 feet. Which is fine for home use. It only comes with 2 AA batteries and a basic case. That's fine for the deal price but for not much more money there are other laser sets that might be better depending on your needs. ... show more

    • saves hours of aggrivation
My wife bought one of those pictures that comes in 5 panels.. great so far right so now I have to hang 5 separate pictures and they all have to be even, lets throw in the fact that its in the living room with a sloped ceiling .. OK I ordered this little gizmo because in my head thats what I needed, I also got the tripod and they both came the day after the picture so I was ready.. The learning curve was about 3 minutes and setup was another 5 .. now I put in the wall hangers on the laser line and crossed my fingers because with the sloped ceiling everything looked off.. Wouldn't you know it the pictures went up .. and on the first shot everything was level and looked like a pro had done it.. I don't know about you but having the right tool for the job ALWAYS makes a difference. ( it also helps keep your blood pressure down ) -- This worked GREAT !! ... show more

I regret buying this laser level. The biggest issue is that the laser line is not straight, no matter how carefully I set it up. I tested it on a tiled bathroom wall specifically to verify the alignment, and the laser consistently appears off-center and crooked. After inspecting the unit, it seems like the laser is shifting inside the housing, which would explain why the lines won’t stay properly aligned. A laser level is only useful if it can produce accurate reference lines, and this one fails at its most basic function. Another disappointment is the tripod. The photos make it look much larger than it actually is. In reality, it’s a very small mini tripod that offers limited height and adjustability. Overall, this was a waste of money. If you’re looking for an accurate laser level for home projects, I would recommend spending your money on a different product. Pros: Bright laser line. Cons: Inaccurate alignment, possible loose laser, tiny tripod, poor value for the price. Would not purchase again. 👎 ... show more

This laser level can be used with some tweaking. I expect a leveler to be leveled. When I put it down on a flat surface, the laser leveler seems to be tilted/off leveled. The tripod that it comes with is pretty cheap and wobbly, which makes the leveler even worst. The brightness and battery life of the laser is nice, but those are the only two good things I can say about it. Overall, if you don’t mind tweaking it a bit by adding thin books to make it leveled, then I would suggest purchasing it. Just note, you get what you pay for. ... show more
