This really comes in handy when you're trying to hang multiple pictures in a room. The only thing that is hit or miss is the tripod and not because it's not an awesome tripod but because you don't usually have enough height, so you have to put it on top of a counter or something usually in it's kind of a pain but so far I haven't had any issues once I work out where to put it. I recommend it. This will really cut the time you spend hanging shelves or paintings photos or even posters is this will really cut the time probably at least in half. It's absolutely irreplaceable when it comes to hanging triptych (three pictures that go together that make one bigger picture) I use this laser level to hang both sets of paintings that you see. If I would've used my level and measurements, it would probably have taken another half hour if not longer

Nice greenlight laser for the handyman. The greenlight is a bit more powerful than my older name brand red laser but that really only helps visibility but accuracy still suffers over distance. The tripod us handy being 5ft tall but is quite dainty. There are 2 leveling bubbles, one for the tripod and one for the mounting plate. Neither is adequate as they are tiny, inaccurate and not sensitive enough. Plan on using a torpedo or other means to level it. Included is a magnetic "L" shaped mounting bracket that can also be screwed onto a vertical surface. This would be handy on a steel column or screwed to a wall. Missing is a magnetic horizontal surface mount that would both increase functionality and save it from taking a tumble on the job. It's claimed to be somewhat shockproof but I wouldn't want to test that. There are 2 modes of functionality in the switch, self leveling or locked. The lock function would come in handy for work along staircases. (Railings, pictures hanging, etc.) The price, I'm not sure you wouldn't find better bargains out there if you looked. It is just a handymans. helper.
