Easiest five star rating I've given in a while. I've had my eye on a rectangular dress watch for a while now. It's a glaring gap in my collection, but as I don't have the money for a Cartier Tank I decided to give the Boyfriend Classic (40mm) and Boyfriend Mini (31mm) a try. After a couple of days of testing I've settled on the 40mm size as the one I'll be wearing for years to come. I have fairly slender wrists for a man (7" or so), so I suit a small to average watch. Turns out the 40mm case of the Boyfriend Classic is the sweet spot. This thing looks incredible on my wrist. Perfectly balanced size and band width that doesn't look at all dainty but will fit comfortably beneath a close fitting shirt sleeve. The design is simple and elegant. I thought the gold and silver colouring might look a little much, but I also tried an all gold version (of the Boyfriend Mini) and to be honest I prefer the gold and silver. There isn't much going on in terms of the design. No second hand and no complications other than the date window. It's just clean and classic. One small negative is that the band can be tricky to resize if you're doing it yourself. The pins holding each link in place aren't chocked with a sleeve inside the holes. It's just a single tight fitting and slightly expandable pin, so it took a little more force than I'm accustomed to remove the pins, though replacing them once I removed a couple of links was no problem at all. If you have a watch repair kit and you're comfortable with it then DIY is no problem, but if you're a little shaky around watch links you might want to take it to a professional to resize the band. All in all, excellent. I couldn't be happier with this watch.

Watch comes boxed and wrapped nicely. The clock face and details are perfectly done band Cam be released from watch base easily and has markings for which pins and links to remove for sizing. Pins appear to be screwed in the links from the slots on one end. The watch knob pulls out to first position to set the date and the second out position for time setting. If you wind the knob to move time forwards, make sure you wind it enough till the date changes so you know the midnight AM position and adjust time from there. Then push the knob in one detent spot and roll the knob the opposite direction to change the date. The date adjusting forwards is opposite of rolling knob to adjust time forwards, which can confuse you if you think the date is not adjustable rolling it the same way as adjusting time forwards. Overall it's a nice watch dress slim style and lays cleanly flat and not bulky. Will have to see how well over time it holds up, as it's a quartz and will need battery replacement eventually.

I love mixed metal jewelry and I love this watch! It is a statement piece and will wear well for many years to come. I love that it's "unisex." It has the hard angles of men's jewelry but overall the piece has a delicate feel that also suits women. I is a bit "scaled down" from most men's watches. The watch features a Roman Numeral dial and and day-of-the month display. This water-resistant timepiece sports a link bracelet band, which in my case is far too big. Luckily I have a tool to remove links to size it. If you don't have a tool, it will cost money at the jewelers to do so. The tool needed is simple and can be purchased online much more cheaply. The watch includes a Lithium battery. This elegant piece would be comfortable in a variety of settings - at the office, the theater or more casual events. This is a great gift for any occasion, but graduation comes to mind!
