It actually has a good taste to it. I like that it cools your water for up to 48 hours and it is tinier than my life straw. It would have been better if it had the capacity to filter lake water and ocean water and pool water. But I guess tap water is good enough. Pros: it filters well and looks nice and feels sturdy and high quality. Cons: A couple of things I don’t like about this bottle, it is not easy to figure out how much to fill the water as the filter is bulky and misplaces some when you put the lid back on the bottle. It is not an issue if you are at home but if you are on the road, you will have to have something to wipe it dry every time you refill it or just refill it half the way. Probably not an issue for most people, but I don’t like sticking wet bottle into the pocket of my backpack. The second and main problem is, the force you need to use to suck the water out through the filter, it is not easy, you have to put in some work to get a little bit of water every time. It honestly gives me headaches. I still carry it with me just in case if I end up in places with questionable water, but trying to avoid using it when possible. ... show more

I like my water filtered, but I do not like feeling like it is a chore to drink the water. If you want to drink water multiple times a day and maybe inconspicuously, do not choose this item. The water tastes filtered but it is hard to draw through what is tantamount to a straw to get to the water. You have to think about it too much. I was hoping for something akin to the way a water pitcher works. Amazon should provide better search and filtering as I could not find anything better. Now I see the other options that might be used by hikers or outdoors people. I am sure this was AI pushed, now but not before. Water bottles or thermoses that filter water should provide the same selections no matter how you "slice it". A bottle is a bottle. If it is a thermos as well ok that should be a filter selection. ... show more

Its making its way to Africa! And so far I love the esthetics of the bottle. Two things I would want to see change: the spout should be covered so it doesn’t track dirt and the ring should be on a hinge so that it’s easy to tandem on my backpack.

This review is for the 19 ounce size of the filter water bottle. Pros…-The quality of the bottle is excellent , and it keeps liquid cold. -The complaints of it being difficult to draw up the water through the straw are somewhat valid, but after a week I'm completely used to it. The liquid IS being drawn up through a good filter, so I would expect a little resistance. -As far as the filter taking up space in the bottle. I measured out the space to be about 3 ounces. Once I knew it could overflow, I just leave the filter in while filling and watch the top. No overflows since accommodating in this way. For someone who lives between camper and boat, this filter has made me feel safe drinking water from tanks that cannot be easily cleaned out. I also use it when home and drinking softer water from the tap. Great Invention!!!! Cons… Amazon does not carry the replacement filers (as far as I can tell) ... show more

I spent $70+for this water bottle and it was hard to drink from as minimal water came through the straw. Also, it leaked. I returned this product and purchased an owala water bottle and I love it.
