Color: 30: Over the Coral Moon (Delicate Coral)
Lancôme is a French beauty house that’s been around since the 1930s, known not only for timeless makeup but also for really investing in the skincare side of things. Their products usually strike that perfect balance between elegance and performance, so whenever they launch something new, I already have high expectations. So, this new Skin Idôle Juicy Liquid Blush absolutely lived up to them. I’ve been testing it in two shades—Pink Ooh La La, which is a cool-toned baby pink, and Over the Coral Moon, a delicate coral. Normally, I stay away from corals because they can pull too orange or just look a little too loud on my fair skin. However, this one is aptly described as “delicate” because it blends out into the most flattering warmth without ever looking harsh. The pink shade is equally lovely, giving me that fresh, natural flush that just makes me look healthy and awake. Both shades work beautifully on my fair complexion, but I think the coral especially would suit a wide range of skin tones because it isn’t too vivid or overpowering. Formula-wise, this blush really stands out. It’s creamy, weightless, and blends like a dream. I also appreciate that Lancôme infused it with skincare ingredients. There’s niacinamide to help brighten and even things out over time, vitamin E for a touch of antioxidant protection, and pro-vitamin B5 that leaves it feeling a little more nourishing than the average blush. So, while you’re getting a gorgeous flush of color, it doesn’t feel heavy or drying rather it feels like it’s melting right in all while giving you a healthy complexion. Now, the pigment payoff is strong enough that you don’t need much, but it’s also buildable, so you can control how bold you want to go. I’ve learned that the best way to apply it is to place few dots on my cheek, tap it gently with my fingers to warm it up and melt into the skin, and then finish by diffusing the edges with a brush. So far, that gives me the most seamless, natural look. It does work with different tools depending on your preference, but I personally avoid a sponge with this one since it tends to absorb too much product. On me, this blush lasts well throughout the day and plays nicely with foundation and other makeup layered underneath. It doesn’t fade away or go patchy, and it still looks fresh hours later. Overall, I think this is a total win! The colors are beautiful, the formula is foolproof, and it really delivers on both wear and comfort. Honestly, I’d happily pick up more shades because it’s that good. Lancôme really nailed it here, and I don’t think this blush will disappoint anyone looking for something fresh, blendable, and flattering.

Color: 40: Mauve to the Groove (Delicate Pink N...
The Lancôme Skin Idôle Juicy Liquid Blush (Shade 40 Mauve to the Groove) is my second experience with liquid blush, and I’ve been using blush for more years than I care to admit. Powdered blush has been my go-to, so I was skeptical about how well this liquid blush would work. However, I was familiar with the Lancôme name. As it turns out, I’m impressed with Lancôme’s Liquid Blush. I particularly like how hydrating it is, especially on my dry skin. I’ve reached my 50s, so my skin tends to be drier. The blush I was using previously lacked the Niacinamide, Vitamin B5, and Vitamin E that this liquid blush has—all hydrating components that I may find in my skincare products. It’s a bonus to find them in cosmetics. Secondly, at my age, powdered blush tends to settle in pores and lines, giving a cakey appearance as the day progresses. However, I was able to blend the Lancôme blush effectively, resulting in a glow without appearing oily or settling in the wrong areas. In my opinion, applying it on a brush is more effective than directly applying it from the applicator. I simply took my brush and dabbed the applicator a bit. Initially, I was doubtful about how long the bottle would last. It seemed small for the cost, which is significantly higher than pharmacy store cosmetics. However, my doubts were quickly dispelled. The first time, I tried just a small amount near the inside of my wrist, as you can see in my included photograph. This tiny dot went a long way, and it’s the same for my face. When applying it, you only need a dot or two! I definitely wasted some of my first application. I paint with acrylics, and some paints are very rich in pigment, while others skimp on pigment. This blush is very rich in pigment, which is a good thing. In part, this is why it doesn’t take much. The Mauve to the Groove color may be too dark for everyday wear for my skin and hair color. I’m blonde and fair. Pink Oh La La (Light Pink) would probably suit me better. But, I still have been wearing it with warmer colors and going into fall. Just wearing it lighter. In the end, it is very evident The Lancôme Skin Idôle Juicy Liquid Blush is a quality cosmetic.

Color: 80: The More the Cherrier (Pink Fuchsia)
This is super cute! It's a kind of cool/neutral light, blushy pink with a pinch of extra intensity over Oh la la. I apply with a light hand, being very pale, and with this application style it looked extremely natural on. It only took 1 dot per cheek to get this look for me, so the pigmentation is quite good -- I have issues with it being too extreme sometimes (see: pale. Like lightest shade of korean foundation type pale), so this was a nice happy medium. It also blended out easily and very well, though that was on a slightly greased-up cheek (sunscreen applied shortly beforehand), so I can't speak on how blending might work on a drier canvas. Being a heathen (but mostly lazy) I blended it out with my fingers, and achieved a desirable result even with this lazy method. The longevity was also excellent. It lasted the whole day despite me sweating like a pig in the southern heat (but mostly humidity) at some points, and looked very nice the whole time. It also did not dry my skin out nor make it oily, and stayed on with no cracking, flaking, etc. despite my naturally dry skin and the wet--> dry --> wet --> dry cycle that I have to experience in this heat every day. The packaging is nice and easy to carry, and stands up without issues (and is quite stable!) on my shelf. The tube style makes this much easier to store than a powder blush, which works out excellently since my vanity is quite cramped already. In terms of value... it's a premium brand and they deliver premium quality. For the price it better have been good (😂) and it definitely is! 5 stars.
