This cream feels like silky thick body butter with a kick. The kick comes from ascorbic acid and capsicum, so I immediately felt a strong cooling and light zapping sensation, which wasn't painful, only unexpected. The sensation lasted a few minutes and subsided. I didn't have any redness, pain or irritation from this product. The cream is very moisturizing and nourishing. The ingredients are full of active components thought to improve skin texture and having exfoliating and brightening properties. However, this product doesn't play nice with other skincare serums, creams and oils that I use. The Amazon listing doesn't show a full list of components, but there are many different dimethicone variants in this product to make it feel silky and create the body of the cream. The problem with so much dimethicone in a cream is that it repels other products you might have put on the skin. It only works nicely with other siliconey skincare. I use many kinds of different serums, some made worth hyaluronic acid, others oil based, others water based, and none of them could be applied under this cream. A few hours after application I end up with the cream balling up and pilling off my face. Especially in the morning I discover bits of the dried cream all over my pillow and on my pajama shirt. This is a very potent skin brightening cream just looking at the actives, but it certainly doesn't want to work with other brands of skincare. So I'll be using this cream as an occasional treatment, but won't be able to incorporate it into my regular skincare regimen.

This Lancer brightening booster, applied to clean skin during my nighttime routine, tingles to the point of a slight burn and needle pricks for a short time after application. Wasn't expecting that nor was warned of it on the packaging or description. Secondly, this stuff goes on and immediately feels dry, like it leaves a powdery primer coat on the skin. Skin feels soft and smooth, but after a few minutes, it pills up and sloughs off and leaves my skin looks crepey and white. Applying it before bed, I'm glad no one can see my face, but I don't know what this white filmy stuff is left on my skin. In my mid-50s, I am on the lookout for products to help even the color/tone of my skin, brightening up dark spots and smoothing the surface. This sounded like that type of product, but after several nights of trying this, I don't know if it fits that need for me. I awake with my skin feeling tighter and drier than before. I'd prefer something more moisturizing.

This is a nice thick cream, it glides in smooth and absorbs well. I have extremely dry sensitive skin and was a little worried that the high percentage of vitamin C would be irritating. But, I have been using it a couple of times a week for a month and have had no sensitivity issues. My skin feels dewy and smooth. I have a tendency to get a red, hot flushed feel and this cream is very soothing and hydrating. Overall, this is a high quality brightening cream that’s rich in antioxidants. It seems a little pricey but it’s a large jar and it takes a very small amount to cover my entire face and neck so it should last a very long time. Highly recommend.

I don't like this cream. It is very similar to those lotion to powder products where it applies like lotion but dries to a matte, powdery finish. I felt the need to use an additional moisturizer almost immediately. Thats when I knew this would be incredibly drying because my skin does not do well with matte type products like that. I only used it once because of that experience, I do not want to disrupt my skin barrier, I have rosacea and my skin is very sensitive. Im glad I did not test it on my cheeks and just in the T zone. Might work for others but for me it’s a definite no.

This Vitamin C night cream has 30% ascorbic acid and so it’s pretty potent. It has a medium-thick consistency that absorbs quickly. It mattifies the skin, leaving a very subtle cast. There is a prickly and cooling sensation that lasts for awhile after applying. There is capsicum annuum fruit extract in here which is surprising since it’s an ingredient that’s often used in lip plumping products or creams used to reduce the appearance of cellulite. It’s often accompanied by a tingling, burning sensation. The result is often increased blood flow to the surface so maybe that helps give the skin a healthy glow. The scent earthy/spicy and reminds me of a health food store. I apply this at night immediately after cleansing and toning and follow with a peptide and ceramide cream. The moisturizer is a must for me after applying this cream as this one does not contain enough to be moisturizing on its own and can feel dry if applied alone. I don’t have any issues with it flaking or pilling. I am loving the brightening results I’m getting from using this. I feel like my skin looks healthier and more youthful. Overall, I recommend this product. Sensitive skin types should start slowly. It’s expensive but the amount of vitamin c in here is in a high enough amount to see results quickly and only using 1-2 times a week will make this last awhile.

This was a bit different than other Vit C products I have used. Usually, Vit C is something used during the day so that retinols can be used at night, so I had to readjust my routine. The cream itself is an orange-yellow color and has an odd, off-putting smell, in my opinion. The ingredients contain silicones, so the texture is odd. I don't consider this moisturizing at all; I actually think the texture gives the illusion that my skin is dry. Because of the silicone base it is hard to incorporate this with my other skincare products. Upon waking in the morning this had beaded up into little white balls and some had migrated into my hairline and hair. I don't think that my skin looked any brighter, I think the fact that it peeled off caused it to be less effective than say, a Vit C serum or a water or oil based cream. I cannot justify the price.
