Im a big fan of this brand and these locks especially! This company does a great job of simple brilliance with its products. As a homeowner and now parent its hard to coop with the loss of your homes aesthetic that you have painstakingly crafted over many years to endless plastic toys, crazy colors and oatterns that match nothing in your home, and cumbersome safety products -- but not with this brand. Thankful. These locks are perfectly hidden. The magnet "keys" easily unlatch the little hinge flapper on the locking mechanism once they get about an inch and ahalf away from the corresponding magnets. Nothing visually to have to look at from the exterior, all the mechanical components of functionality remain on the interior of whatever cabinet door or drawer you install these on. The set comes with 4 of the keys and even if you were to lose all of them somehow you could always yank a strong magnet off your fridge and make do with that as well. Shamefully i have always struggled with 'childsafe' lids and the sort so these cabinet locks that require no strength, no awkward squeezing or pinching etc are great. A majorly beneficial gift to give a new parent for when kids start crawling, nothing scarier than a kid getting into the area under the sink where all the chemical cleaning supplies are kept or heaven forbid the knife drawer or pulling a heavy drawer out and onto themselves and really injuring themselves. It can happen faster than you can blink, those shifty little cuties! I think this set is a great value for how many cabinet locks it comes with and how easy they are for daily use.

These magnetic cabinet locks have solved a lot of the usual problems with cabinet locks - the biggest being the mechanism being visible on the outside of the cabinet or drawer and destroying the look of your room. These locks are all hidden inside your cabinet or drawer and you use a strong magnet to unlock it. The biggest problem you have is where to safely store the magnet. They also have several tools to help you get good installation. One is a positioning sticker with a ruler so you need no tools of your own. Another is a cradle that cradles both parts of the locking mechanism so that they will be sure to lock when you install them. One of the pictures I posted shows the two elements in this cradle. They’re installed with 3M adhesive so you don’t need to use any screws. They have an installation video on YouTube, which helps a lot on learning how to install these. I like that when the grandkids have gone home, I can put the lock into the unlocked position. When it’s just my husband and I we don’t have to still keep using the magnet to unlock the various cabinets and drawers. When my grandkids are over, I am always with them, but it only takes a minute distraction and they could be getting into something that would be harmful to them. I want to make sure that never happens and these are a step in the right direction.

These magnetic cabinet locks are a good concept and the installation is very easy since they use adhesive instead of screws. The adhesive pads stuck well and the instructions were straightforward. The pack also comes with plenty of locks and a few magnetic keys, which is nice. That said, they didn’t work very well on my solid wood cabinets. Because the cabinet doors are thicker, the magnetic key sometimes has trouble engaging the lock consistently. On thinner cabinet material they would probably work much better. Overall they’re easy to install and could be a good option for standard cabinets, but if you have thicker solid wood doors like mine the magnet may not be strong enough to work reliably.

The media could not be loaded. I really like these, but also not perfect in all situations. First of all, super discrete so they don’t ruin the aesthetic of your home which I love about these, but I don’t think they will hold as well as some cabinet lock styles, until you drill and secure with additional screws. The mounting jig helps, but also does consider how much clearance is needed if your door doesn’t completely lay flat on the surface of the cabinet so it still takes some careful installation. I also had drawers whose construction does not make it easy to fit or line things up and I had to print some extra spacer/support. Again, without screwing down, and no obvious visible lock someone (my wife) may just yank on the door causing the plastic door catch to go flying. Ok, that happened just once, and now we are trained. Another downside we needed to grab a “key” every time you want to grab something from a cabinet gets a little annoying but I suppose we are still acclimating to that part. So far, I child has not been able to yank open any doors and I have not screwed any of these in, so the adhesive seems to work pretty well. Of course I cleaned the surfaces first with alcohol. As he gets bigger and stronger I may need to go back and add screws. I didn’t have any issues with the magnet not being strong enough to unlock through any of our doors.

The locks have made my home significantly safer for my little one. The installation was w=easy and the adhesive is strong, didn't need any tools or drilling. The locks are completely hidden inside the cabinets, which keeps everything looking neat and uncluttered. The adhesive holds up well over time and doesn't come off easily, even with frequent use.
