I am a hair extension enthusiast and a professional hair stylist. Let me tell you my story and my opinion from a professional perspective! For the past 3 years, the whole world has been in a state of turmoil. Unfortunately, I was infected with COVID. And as a woman who loves beauty, the sequelae brought about by COVID have slight hair loss, which makes me feel very scared and inferior. It was devastating. A friend recommended I try black hair extensions human hair until my hair started to come back. I had never had extensions, and I definitely was afraid of the idea of doing themself having already lost so much of my pretty hair. The local salon wanted over a thousand dollars for tape in hair extensions, I found out they got the hair from LAAVOO, and that the charges were a lot of random tack ons, and a surplus hourly rate. But I have never used hair extensions, I contacted laavoo's customer service department, they carefully explained to me how to wear & how to care & how to wash & how to remove the tape hair which is more professional than the salon, let me tell you these tips ! WEARING TIPS!!!! Step 1- Hair extensions must be applied to washed clean hair. Note, only use shampoo, not conditioner. Step 2- Rip off the cover on the tape extension to expose the super tape. Line up extension directly and attach by pressing to piece of desired hair. Step 3- Double the thickness by adding another layer to the underneath of the piece. Step 4- Two sticky sides face each other and the section of hair will be in the middle. Like a sandwich. Please note that there are about 50-80s hairs attached to it. If there are too many attached hairs, the stickiness of tape will be affected. Step 5- Please Note: Once hair is in, use your flat iron on a low heat setrting. Please control the temperature within 350 degrees Fahrenheit. (Please don’t use too high temperature, because that may cause the tape to melt.) Then heating the tapes 5-6s one time, repeating 5-6 times. Your hair is now thick and seamless. PRECAUTIONS AFTER WEARING FOR THE FIRST TIME: Do not wash your hair within 48 hours, do not touch alcohol or any chemical substances after wearing tape in hair extensions human hair, do not go to the swimming pool, and use neutral shampoo to wash your hair. WASHING & CARING TIPS: Step 1- use conditioner when shampooing; Step 2- use a hover comb to comb through your hair while blowing it out; Step 3- apply hair oil; Step 4- use a straightening board to straighten the hair. REMOVING TIPS: Step 1- Use with a professional product for taking out the tapes on the contact part of the hair and tape. Step 2- Wait for one minute, gently peel off the tape. (Don’t tear the tape too hard, because that might pull your own hair.) Step 3- Then you can wash your own hair to keep your hair clean and you could replace with new tapes. I hope these little tips of mine are helpful to you.If you’ve never put tape ins before- trust me it’s too easy. Then I bought laavoo hair extensions, please see the video and pictures, I really like it! 100% remy human hair ! Soft!!! GOOD QUALITY!!!! Cheaper than the salon and very cost-effective！！！ Just like that, my confidence is back! I like and appreciate myself very much now! I see that laavoo is doing another hair extension called newborn now! This brand is really very connotative, and the recently launched hair extensions are very thoughtful. I would like to say that this brand really brought me out of the haze and brought me back to life. And, I have to say, the customer service is amazing! Even when I'm down, customer service doesn't just care about my opinion of their products, they value product quality and treat customers with absolute sincerity! This kind of sincerity makes me feel that I am talking to my friends about my troubles and my friends help me solve the troubles, I am born again! The media could not be loaded. This was my first time having extensions in 5 years. The only other time I’ve had extensions was for a photoshoot I did in Vegas and I bought the “halo” extensions. I didn’t really like the halo because I couldn’t put my hair in a ponytail, I was afraid it was gonna fall off, and it was HEAVY so the wire hurt my head sometimes. (I paid almost $600 for the halo extensions so no it wasn’t bad quality, it just wasn’t my thing). FAST FORWARD to 2022 and I discovered tape ins… after giving myself a chemical haircut from bleach and too many protein treatments, half of my hair length snapped off so I decided to chop it all off. I HATE SHORT HAIR. But I loved to be blonde — so that isn’t a good mix. Anyways, I was scared to order these and put them in because I didn’t want to lose anymore hair and people say they’re damaging etc. but I took a chance and installed them with the help of my sister (she’s a hair stylist). The Positive: 1. Easy & quick to install. 2. The tape isn’t bad quality and none of mine fell out. (I even used conditioner on them when I washed them bc my hair is SO DRY and damaged I have to condition my entire head) 3. They DID slip down a little bit, but that’s my fault for using conditioner on them. 4. They are THICK from the top all the way to the bottom (at first anyways) 5. Taking them out is EASY! The tape is extremely easy to remove if you use the right stuff. Don’t use alcohol — use an oil. (I used a cheap tape in remover from my local beauty supply store + some almond oil) Oil works way better than alcohol. The Negative: 1. The color was weird, the brown root was a light brown but had a green ashy tint, and the blonde was like a peach colored strawberry blonde. It wasn’t ugly but it wasn’t great. 2. The size of the weft/tape tab is bigger than other brands. This could be a good thing for someone else but personally I like skinnier tapes. 3. After I washed them (I use Matrix Length Goals shampoo & conditioner made specifically for extensions) they weren’t silky and smooth anymore. They weren’t horrible but they definitely ARE NOT REMY HAIR! They get tangled easily. 4. After using LOW HEAT (275° F) with a salon quality heat protectant (Redken Smooth Down serum before blow drying + Matrix Mega Sleek spray before straightening/curling) they were fine the first time…. But the second and third time I tried to curl them, they didn’t really hold a curl anymore. I would say these are ok if you don’t plan on manipulating them often. They are not Remy hair and they ended up getting extremely tangled to the point of almost being matted (mostly in the back of my head). BUT I contacted them on Instagram and they literally refunded me my money without hesitation and were extraordinarily nice about it too. So, all in all, I love this company & for the price the hair isn’t that bad. Just not Remy hair, so don’t treat it like it is. ... show more
