I use this salt to refill my hand grinder. The texture is coarse and dry--rock salt as opposed to something like kosher or flake salt--so it grinds effectively. I appreciate that it is "sea salt", though apparently it does not provide iodine?

Nice sized crystals for margaritas and steaks. I’ve been using this product for decades and this has a nice flavor. Using this over cheaper salts is more about luxury and presentations though, rather than a real taste difference in food. Not noticeable when used in small amounts in food but slightly noticeable if compared side by side with others. This is a good coarse salt. I use it where a recipe calls for coarse or Kosher salt, and in our salt grinder (we rationalize that using a grinder gives us more controlled and repeatable amounts when we salt our food). In any case, this salt has no visible impurities or flavors, and is entirely satisfactory. The price is very reasonable for real sea salt.
