I use this salt to refill my hand grinder. The texture is coarse and dry--rock salt as opposed to something like kosher or flake salt--so it grinds effectively. I appreciate that it is "sea salt", though apparently it does not provide iodine?

This is a good coarse salt. I use it where a recipe calls for coarse or Kosher salt, and in our salt grinder (we rationalize that using a grinder gives us more controlled and repeatable amounts when we salt our food). In any case, this salt has no visible impurities or flavors, and is entirely satisfactory. The price is very reasonable for real sea salt. Finally, I like the packaging as it makes a colorful addition to the kitchen and how can that be a bad thing? ... show more
