Description

Unlike typical under saddle pickups that are dependent on string compression for their sound, the Element was engineered to mirror the soundboard's actual movement as you play. At the heart of the pickup, a flexible film sensor only 2 thousands of an "thick picks up the guitar's most delicate nuances. Tracking the motion of the top rather than a direct string attack suppresses "quack" caused by compression and unlocks the Element's unrivalled dynamic range. The pickup's minimalist construction lessens any influence on the acoustic properties and creates an intimate coupling between the pickup and guitar for the highest fidelity possible.

  • Very good quality pickup
I added this to a guitar that did not have a pickup. The install was fairly easy but it did require some drilling so be careful. The pickup is very good. It is clear and picks up the nuances in the sound. The volume and tone controls work well and allow for nice basic adjustments. I would buy it again. ... show more

  • Simply the best
Best pickup ever. Installed it in 15 min. Clean and crisp through an amp or PA. Get an LR Baggs para di as well and it won't get any better. There is only one acoustic I've ever played that didn't need a little EQ live and that was a cole clark. Pricey though. Don't use modeling live. Thats for recording. Martins are generally the best for performance, but they are all very different. It takes a while to find the one. Stay away from Taylor or Yamaha for live. I would also explore the Epiphone J200s studio. Nice tone for $500 and has a decent pickup. Always try and get a used guitar but check the frets and saddle/set up. Make sure the gain "into" the mixer is full or near good signal before gaining on the mixer. Weak input will be weak output regardless of volume level. And for a small awesome cheap mixer I go with Peavey PV6 BT. $199 new and has everything a musician will need to perform. Tried AH/Yamaha mixers. Ok but not the best. Need mids and compression for whole mix. Since they don't sell this mixer in GC i think it gets overlooked. Again, remember can't send a low gain weak signal into a mixer and expect good guitar tone. Gain up your pre amp/di before the mixer good. As for vocal mic. I've stopped using 58s after 20yrs. Find a used Shure 87A at GC. Its active and no need for pre amp to gain it up before the mixer. Use 48V phantom power on mixer to operate the mic and LR Baggs para DI. No need for power chords. Read about gain staging for live performance. It is crucial to understand for good tone. Gain the 87A mic up to 3 oclock on the mixer. boost mids a tick and highs and lows to 2 oclock. Finally, remember the power speaker is the last stage in the gain chain. Use the speaker to adjust final volume, not the master on the mixer. Set the master on the mixer at noon and leave it. ... show more

  • My favorite acoustic guitar pickup.
Having owned guitars with this pickup system installed I was confident in choosing the LR Baggs product. It simply sounds great and performs flawlessly. Installation was straightforward. However, it's important that you, the installer, are confident in your ability to use proper tools efficiently. Mistakes here could become huge quickly. All said and done - the new guitar sounds great amplified, as good as the professional or factory installed pickup systems. Very satisfied, will use again, would recommend to others. ... show more

  • Excellent
I’ve been a pro guitar player my whole life (well not in kindergarten lol). I have several guitars. This pickup is excellent and sounds really natural. The tone circuit is sweet. It a variable blend between the bottom/mids/top frequencies instead of just a typical hi and low shelf style. Very sweet acoustic gtr pickup. ... show more

  • Great sound
Just got done installing this and I am pretty pleased with how this sounds. I didn't experience any issues like some have with an unbalanced volume but you must take care to install properly. Installation was fairly easy for me but I been working on geetars for awhile now. Might not be for a novice. It definitely has a piezo sound but it has a little "extra" to it. Fingerstyle sounds really good on it. To me it seems like the volume and tone controls are backwards so I keep wanting to turn it up and it goes down but that will just take some getting used to. I mounted on the underneath of the top edge of the soundhole. Pretty pleased with the simplicity of this ... show more

  • Fairly easy install, just take your time, excellent sound quality!
Absolutely fantastic preamp and fairly straight forward to install! I show the install and demo on my YouTube channel derekpaulguitar you don’t need any real expertise, just take your time with it, incredible sound that improved the sound of my $300 Ibanez AC340

  • Truly remarkable under saddle transducer
First I'll start of by saying i am a beginner guitarist, having only been playing just over 2 years, however this under saddle transducer is the best compliment to my 1999 Guild D-4. The sound is incredibly warm, but still able to squeak out the high tones. it sounds like the sound is resonating from the body of the guitar right out of the amplifier. This is the best available option for musicians that are looking to pick up the natural tones of your instrument. When recording through the transducer, the notes are clear and strong, with no muddled sounds, and the sustain of each note is long and vibrant. I play out of an older Pevey BASS amp, and if its up past half way on the volume, the guitar begins to resonate and feedback but the sound is clear and loud by then. Have not played on a stage infront of a live audience yet, however i expect it to perform marvelously. ... show more
