I have a hard time with mascaras and can only use waterproof in order for my lashes to keep a curl. I’ve used this one on and off for like the last 10 years?! I always come back to this. Make my lashes look like I’m wearing falsies.

So I've been using this (...?) mascara for a few years just because it's a cheap waterproof mascara with my preferred spiky brush type. Urgently needed a new one so decided to buy on Amazon even though I think ordering things online can be a bit risky. The product I received does not look like the one I had before - of course they may have just changed the packaging, but I am a little suspicious. Adding pictures for comparison... First picture ("front" side): Top is the one I ordered, bottom is old one I bought in store. As you can see, the blue thing extends to the lid on my old one but is only on the tube of the new one. The shade of blue is different. The name is different - old one says "volume" but new one says "voluminous". Font is different. Old one has the word "waterproof" on it, new one does not (tested it though and it does indeed seem waterproof). Second picture ("back" side): Very different!! My old mascara has the company name, an illustration of the brush/wand, contact info/address for the company, and the text "made in Italy". The new one is entirely different. It instead says "Caution: Flammable until dry. Do not use near fire, flame or heat." followed by the same warning in French. The fact that the picture in the product listing does not match the product is also a bit concerning. I'm not noticing anything actually wrong with the product (but who knows?), I just find it concerning that the packaging is quite significantly different and I know knockoff makeup is a huge industry online so overall you should definitely be careful buying things on places like Amazon or similar online shops, particularly things you're putting on your face! I usually try to buy makeup directly from the company or highly trusted retailers. This was an emergency purchase. Still gave it 4/5 because it works fine but I am suspicious. ... show more
