I bought this mineral makeup primarily for its sunscreen capability, since I have never been able to wear liquid sunscreen on my face. The liquid sunscreens vaporize and make my eyes tear to the point where I am incapable of doing anything. Liquid foundations have always been unsatisfactory for me, too. But surprise! This mineral makeup takes fifteen to twenty years off my face's apparent age, makes me look gorgeous, and provides sunscreen too! Wow, just Wow! My skin looks smooth, dewy, flawless, and glowing, and the shade is perfect for me. I have never been able to find a good shade in liquid makeup. And it's quick and easy to apply. I have been using this foundation daily for the past three to four months. I had previously been using the original L'Oreal True Match liquid foundation (in C1 Alabaster), which I really like, but really wanted to try this since it is probably better for the skin. I purchased this in the Natural Ivory shade, along with the concealer, mineral finish, blush, and mineral glow. I feel the foundation shade matches very closely to my skin. At first, I was not that impressed with this makeup because I have oily skin and it would wear off halfway through the day. I also had to learn how to apply this since I was accustomed to using liquid makeup. That brings me to the packaging and included brushes. The brushes are terrible. They need to do away with them. I use my Real Techniques Buffing brush for the foundation, which I pour out into a flat lid from a face cream pot that I saved. It's got more surface area for swirling the brush. The shaker pots that the makeup comes in are too small for proper swirling and makeup gets stuck in the grooves of the inside lid, which also serves as the handle of the brush. Very impractical. I have to go over my face twice with the foundation to get good coverage and I still get very shiny by day's end but I'm too busy to reapply and, frankly, don't care by that point, anyway. My boss does sometimes ask me if I'm sweating. I do think that, since I began using this makeup daily, my skin has improved. I have fewer dark spots. I have always had occasional break outs and still do, so nothing changed there. I do feel better about using this vs. the liquid, however, still use the liquid for occasions when I need makeup to last (i.e. weddings, holidays, etc). Edit (6-20-16): This container has developed several cracks, some of which appear to go all the way through. I've never dropped this one but it has been jostled around a bit while inside my makeup bag. I accidentally dropped the container for the Soft Focus Mineral Finish and it shattered. I was able to salvage some of the powder but, again, these containers are not good at all. ... show more

THE BEST OF FOUNDATIONS!!! I LOVE this line of L'oreal. I have gone back and forth through the years between liquid and powder foundation. I am super pale and the palest shade works very well for me, esp when they introduced the .5 shades. Have used the liquid for several years and finished and touched up with the pressed powder. Tried this one but it was so messy, I abandoned it. Well about 8 mos ago I moved from an area near the ocean that never got super cold and dry (CA) and moved to a dry climate with REAL winters (NV). Add in a new skin condition, menopause and my face was THRASHED. Moisturized the heck out of it all the time, ran humidifiers, and blah blah. Liquid wasn't hacking it. So I went back to this product and YES. It covers my unsightly skin condition, lasts WAY longer than the liquid, doesn't show how dry my skin can get and needs way less touch ups throughout the day. Way less time to apply. Still a mess and the packaging sucks. Works great with a flat kabuki brush. Thanks, L'oreal!!!! ... show more

Angry this is discontinued. It is a great product that hides imperfections and is easily applied. Why do they discontinue items that we really like and replace them with products that are inferior?

This is a fantastic mineral powder foundation with medium to full coverage and decent staying power. Why three stars then? Well, the packaging is SO BAD that I have actually made the decision to switch to another brand. The included brush is completely useless, but the worst offender is the bogus cap, which has a weird indentation that traps excess powder like it was made for it, resulting in powder flying into the air when the cap is removed. I'm really not a fan of getting mineral powder literally everywhere, every morning. Hey L'Oreal? Fix this shoddy container and you'll have me back, I promise. Also, one last minor nitpick - every shade of this foundation is slightly too yellow for my skin tone. I'd like something with a tad more pink in it, but it's manageable. ... show more

Sadly this is discontinued and the only mineral foundation that never dried my face out nor broke it out on application. I never had any issues with it settling in my fine lines or anything else. I've also used this as a setting powder with great results. The only thing I really didn't care for is the brush it comes with, it's a bit hard to properly clean without the bristles coming out. This matched my skin tone to a T. If this came back, it would be nice if it had a cooling property to it, especially on the humid days in the south. ... show more

Pros: Got a good rating on EWG's cosmetic database Protects you from sun damage Easy to apply and matches skin tone well Good price Goes on well over moisturizer Cons: Powder (like any loose makeups) can get messy when traveling, so it is good to have a spare brush to get the powder that sticks on the bottom of the brush.
