I have been wearing eyeliner for over 50 years and have tried every kind imaginable--pencil, kohl, liquid, gel--you name it, I've tried it in just about every brand sold in drugstores (and far too many at great expense across cosmetic counters in department stores). Until now, ALL have either disappeared after a short time or have relocated under my eyes. This one works. It goes on easily and STAYS on where you put it until you take it off with makeup remover. You can't smudge it easily, but If you want that smokey look, try "sketching" it on lightly as you would a crayon when shading. I don't know why anyone is having trouble sharpening theirs. I have two eyeliner sharpeners made by different companies, and they both work. It isn't easy to get a pinpoint edge, to be sure, but if you must have that kind of point, you can accomplish it with old emery boards or sandpaper. Waste of product, if you ask me. I'm buying several more just in case L'Oreal is dumb enough to discontinue these. ... show more

I should have read the reviews before buying this. Once you've used the pencil down to where you need to either use a sharpener or screw the bottom to expose more liner, it's done - there is no more liner. You've got to throw it away after that because there isn't a way to sharpen or to twist the bottom for more liner. It's great otherwise. I guess this is how this make-up company is providing less product for just as much money. Hopefully it backfires on them when people stop buying it. ... show more

Love the way it goes on very smooth. Although I had the same issues others was having, that being said i went and purchased a eye liner sharpener with the 2 sizes and tried it in the smaller size and it did nothing but tried it in the bigger size pointed upward so it would cut using a firm grip but not too much because it could break and finally got the black plastic part to come off smoothly then got to the pencil with more liner. Was about to give up hope and be disappointed about the use or lack there of and I finally did this and very happy to know I've not wasted my money. So hope this is helpful to someone else about this issue with this style of pen. ... show more

At 49 my black eyeliner situation was a HOT MESS. Not any longer...this stuff is awesome for waterline and doesn't smear or give you racoon eyes ..love it. Pro tip: buy one of those old school, circular, metal sharpeners for this pencil, it's the only sharpener that works on this pencil. :)

I love love love this eyeliner! It stays on perfectly through tears, rain, sweat!! No joke. I wear it every day and love it. It does harden a little and you can feel that it hardens. That is what makes it stay on through everything. Doesnt bother me.

This eyeliner works well for the first couple days...before you have to sharpen it. After that, it is absolutely impossible to sharpen. Total waste of money. Every time I sharpen it with my nice make-up sharpener, it takes big clumps of the eyeliner off and it’s so soft that it just crumbles. It’s like you’re just throwing away expensive eyeliner because when you sharpen it keeps breaking off and it’s sad to see it in your trashcan instead of on your eyes .
