I bought this curling wand not sure what to expect. I brought it on a cruise for the first time using it and my hair turned out amazing. The curls were tight and even and the thinner the piece of hair I used the better they looked. It performs amazingly. There is only one temperature setting, you just click it on and let it heat up. Personally I like that because I never know what temperature to set an iron onto. It doesn’t have a level base to stabilize it onto the table but I just set it down knowing I will be picking it back up directly. I have perfectly straight, glossy hair, and, as a woman who likes to keep it casual when she's not on stage singing, I usually like to wear it straight. However, there are times, like when I'm going to a formal party, a wedding, a celebration of any kind, the theater, the symphony, etc., when I want a little more. I want a little curl. This wand gives me what I want, and it gives it to me easily. I'll admit, this wand takes a little getting used to if you've never used one before. There is a slight learning curve. But it's just slight. This wand won't give you tight curls, but I don't know many people who want tight curls these days. The trend is toward loose, beachy waves, and this wand will give you a head full of those. (My hair is about 4-5" below my shoulders.) I kind of wish the wand had more heat settings, but I am careful to always use the heat protective spray. I recently lost a little hair due to stress, and though you wouldn't know it looking at me, I know it, and I sure don't feel I can burn any! (Revitalizing my dormant hair follicles with papaya juice, a scalp massager, and red/NIR light, all available here on Amazon.) Thankfully, the wand does come with a glove so you can wind your hair around it without fear of burning your fingers. The wand is titanium rather than ceramic, which means it heats up almost instantly, but also means it has more of a chance to harm your hair. Be careful with it. Don't feel you have to keep it on your hair for a long time to get curl. You don't. Personally, I'd rather have ceramic, so it didn't get so hot so fast, but that's just me. For me, even with my straight hair, this wand gives me sexy, beachy waves that are glossy and last all day. And, so far, I haven't harmed the wand or my hair, and don't expect to. ... show more

Hair dresser beach waves! Finally I got an iron that actually leaves my hair like my hairdresser did it. I always left the salon loving my hair and hating the thought of washing it. The iron does exactly those wavy curls and they last. This product gets extremely hot. Please use the glove ! I did get burned my error not wearing it. Lesson learned. I thought this was a clothes iron when bought it. I ironed a suit with it and it took a little over 3 hours, but it did turn out great. It works great for handkerchiefs and socks, but I would recommend getting something larger for shirts, pants and suits. My wife uses it on her hair. makes beautiful curls/waves/hairstyles especially for someone like myself who is so bad at a curling iron. The first try on this wand, it only took me ~20 minutes for my long, thick, black hair, and I got so many compliments on my hair throughout the evening. This is a star find!
